I had sent an email to KFC and Kellogg's complaining about their commercials You can see my email and their response below --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- __________________________________________________________________________________ I wrote: You have a commercial on USA TV is very troubling to myself and many others. If you are interested in hearing some feedback check out this discussion. We are tired of commercials making it sound ok for children to be inconsiderate, disrespectful, threatening, and just plain rude.It is not ok with alot of us.I will no longer buy any of your products. Thanks Raydene Labatore http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1030689.aspx -------------------------------------------------------------------------- _________________________________________________________________________ They responded: Dear Raydene Labatore: Thank you for contacting KFC about our Boneless Variety Bucket television commercial. Your feedback is appreciated and has been forwarded to our advertising department and our ad agency. The MosquitoTone in the commercial is harmless, and is even popular for use as a ringtone for mobile phones. We sincerely apologize if you found the use of the tone unpleasant. The Boneless Variety Bucket commercials will air only through April 29. Thank you again for contacting KFC, and we look forward to serving you in one of our restaurants soon. At least they wrote back which is more then I can say for most companies. I'm confused though what are they talking about with the MosquitoTone in the commercial? Perhaps they have had other complaints and confused them? I don't know but I'd ask them about it since I know that wasn't part of the original message you wrote. Good to know it will only be on a couple of more days.

KFC are responsible for large scale animal cruelty as well as serving nutritionally inadequate, fattening, unhealthy junk. It doesn't surprise me at all to hear they have other faults! Any additional reason to boycott them is ok with me.

I'm shocked that such a big company can't even read emailed complaints correctly, but a lot of companies seem to be like that these days. I would personally email them again and try to explain in very simple terms (as if talking to a child) what the complaint really is about.

thats ok I wrote a letter because my roommate and I were turned down as paying customers for delivery because the KFC in our area was short staffed with no delivery drivers and they wont send from elsewhere... so I told them I wont eat there anymore

That was your opinion and your opinion counts. I think KFC responded to your concerns but it didn't answer all. It's like they left you hanging. Let's just hope that it is not computer generated the next time.If it really bothers you, ask the people concern regarding this or the lawmakers so that they can do something about it.Goodluck!

so first of all you tell them you wont be eating anymore of their products and they end up by saying they look forward to seeing you in their restaurants , makes me think they didn't even read it properly and that this was a standard letter to other complainants xx

We don't get those commercials here in canada but we did get a clothing commercial around xmas that was VERY disturbing. It showed kids opening their gifts on xmas morning and getting mad because they didn't like what they got so they destroyed the xmas tree and threw it outside and broke windows and such. I couldn't believe it. Good for you for sticking up for all parents. If I had ever even heard of the clothing line I would have tried to write them too.

Good for you for writing them, and shame on them for sending out that generic piece of trash. I can't believe they haven't had other complaints about the attitudes portrayed in that commercial. It does make me wonder what's up with the mosquito tone though. I don't remember anything about a cell phone in it. Unless maybe it's in there to get kids' attention. I think that would prove that the commercial is aimed at the kids and that's why the kids get to act like that.

Well, at least you had a response, but it seems to me like they had absolutely NO clue what you were talking about. I kind of get the feeling that they've had quite a number of complaints about this "MosquitoTone" thing and just set up an automated response to deal with those complaints. I bet they read the first line of your complaint and just sent you the automated response. Better luck with Kellogg's.

I think it's great that you wrote them. I am surprised they emailed back so quickly. But I am disheartened by the light tone they take with regards to your concerns. I guess they feel they are so big that losing one person's business won't affect them. Hmmmm. Wonder if they'd feel differently if the hole lot of us emailed them and told them we would no longer be buying their products. I just may do that myself. Thanks raydene.

At least they responded although difficult to tell how seriously they took you? Doesn't sound like they're talking about the same commercial you are though??? I believe for every *one* person that takes the time to write, there are a 1,000 who do not. I don't care for the KFC commercial either. Comes off to me like a bunch of spoiled kids that get what they want. It puts me off.

Good for you for writing to these companies but it sounds like KFC completely missed the point of your email (maybe a further reply from you might be an idea). Also, the cheek of them saying "we look forward to serving you in one of our restaurants soon" after you told them you will no longer buy their products!

Oh Boy - you can tell that they really listen to what you are saying can't you....NOT! That is the problem with these companies they treat you with no respect - I suppose at least you got an answer - even if it does seem to be from someone else's email! xxx
