Being an Angel

Angels, what a concept.............................A few years ago II was watching Good Morning America. There are 2 gentlemen who are on the show often. They are called the "God Squad." I knew them from a local show on Long Island's Channel 12News that my son Jerry directed. They are a Rabbi and a Catholic Priest. Whenever they are on, the love they have for each other is genuine, I always give them my undivided attention. They talked about angels, real and spiritual. My husband, Thom, and I spend a lot of time reading the Bible. And never really gave the idea about real angels much thought. Until after the priest and the rabbi were done. Then we started to name people who have come into our lives as angels. Of course we said each other and our sons, not all the times but when we really needed it. We thought about our friends, who stood by us when we thought our son Jonathan my never come out of an infant coma. My Aunt, who would often travel with me and made up for the lost of my mother. My friend Linda, who years ago was there when I really needed someone to talk to. A lot of e-mail friends I have met on the computer, have called me and supported me in all the ways I needed. When I had my accident, I waited for the bright light, the feel of angels wings the cool air as angels floated around me. That never happened. But when I was in the coma, I felt love, prayers and support from everyone that was there for me. I have even been an angel for some of my dear ones. Not a chore to take lightly. When I got tapped on the shoulder to be one for my friends, I was chilled to the bone. Recently I was riding in my friend's car, she had just been through the death of her father, 2 weeks before. She was telling me about something that had to be done, but she just didn't have the mental strength to do it. I said something to her, and she started to cry, she said that I sounded just like her mother, who had passed on 2 years ago, and I have never met. It was something her mother would have done for her. I offered to write a document she needed. She told me her Mom was a writer and she said I was being a vessel for her to get it done. When my friend told me that, my teeth began to shiver. I cannot tell you what an awesome responsibility it is to be trusted by God to do His work. In 2002 our youngest son Jonathan and his wife, Jennifer, added twins boys to their family. Timothy and Nathaniel were born 6 weeks early. Timothy did well, Nathaniel was born with a lot of things wrong. He died 14 months later. He was our personal angel. When he was alive I realized how much God trusted us. He knew we would feel blessed with Nathaniel and the message Nathaniel brought. One of faith, hope and love. Nathaniel has touched so many lives, all over the world. I personally tell everyone I meet about Nate. I show them his picture with his wings and they know in that glance he is a angel. We all have stories about an encounter with an angel. I would love to hear how you have been an angel for someone. You may have never even realized how you touched a life. In the time we have here on earth, there may be many times when you were the one that said or did something to bring a loved one some comfort, love, encouragement and joy. That my dear friends is why we were placed in front of each other. What a great legacy to leave others. The opportunity to be an angel is out there. Let it find you and let yourself be blessed with the wonder of it. by Carolee Kaufold My Thoughts....by Carolee © "may be reprinted with proper credit"

One of the definitions of angel from the dictionary is, a person having qualities generally attributed to an angel, as beauty, purity, or kindliness. I think this earth has many angels, according to this definition. Especially the kindliness attribute. I have been there for a few friends when they were struggling in one way or another. Just having a kind soul to comfort, console and care for them in their time of need is angelic. They were always very responsive to my kindness and often return it when I am in need. I am not so bold that I would ever call myself an angel. I just try to live my life with good values and help people the best I can. God Bless PEACE

Carolee, I do not know if this is beeing an angel or not but I worked as an nurse for 20 years. I have helped lots of my patients pass on peacefully. I have had helped their spirits pass through the white light. The first person who came to me what my Great Aunt. I loved her so much she was my favorite besides my Granny. I was in a medication class when my Aunt came to me. I have had patients wait to die until I came on shift. Once I brought a spirt home and he was with me for a few days because I was so stressed to help him. Finally when I sat down and paryed for the white lite and to help him pass on he did go. Now I am disabled and do not have that connection. I think it is because my brain is full of other stuff. When life gets so busy sometimes I feel I am not as receptive. I am taking care of two baby goats who are one week old. They are so cute, their mom would not let them nurse. I do not know the women I am doing this for. It is for a friend of a fiend. They needed someone to take the babies for two nights because one is having surgery out of town. What did it hurt me? Nothing. In fact I have some great pictures and a couple of my friends came over and got to bottle feed the baby goats that they have never done before.
