Which do you prefer a strict yet competent teacher or a lenient but not that competent? For me, I would rather be under the advisory of a strict teacher because rest assured that i will really learn from her. Anyways, it's for my own good. I'll be more disciplined and it also somehow urged me to study more. Unlike being in a Lenient teacher, Students will have the tendency to be relaxed for they know that their teacher will not reprimand them even if they will not study their lessons. How about you?

I'd rather have both--strict, but kind at the same time. When I was in high school, I met teachers of varied style; but I noticed I respond well to teachers whose demands are more realistic and gives consideration to the students. Lenient teachers on the other hand are not good as the students tend to abuse, that also what happened to us then. On the other hand, a teacher makes unreasonable demands is not considered as a good teacher because she will only sow fear instead of loyalty and responsibility. I have had a teacher in grade school who was a product of the old school because she his us physically if we did not know the answer. That was really traumatic to us, especially to me. . .

I think 90% of students, either small kids or adults student, would like to have a lenient teacher rather than a very strict one. A lenient teacher can also give students teh same knowledge as a strict one can, and the teaching effect might be better because his students may feel more comfortable and pleased to learn from this teacher.

we have different preferences in choosing the kind of teacher we want. as long as you're comfortable with yor teacher, his/her teaching styles, etc.

Teachers have styles, generally they are only strict at the beginning of the term, reason of course is for students to take them seriously as well as the subject. As days pass, teachers become a little like their total self particularly once they know what their students are like without of course compromising their efficiency. During my student days I would prefer the strict and competent one because once I know its her or his time, my adrenaline is way up and I feel more confident when I passed their subject because I know I did well.

I was a teacher of English for four years. From my experience as both a teacher and a student the best educators have a balance. Teachers who are too strict forget that children learn ost when they have fun. While teaching isn't a populatrity contest it is difficult for children to learn from somebody they dislike. Teachers that are too lenient lose the respect of the class and the students take advantage of them. Before they know what is going on the classroom is more like a zoo than a place of education. A good teacher makes the lesson enjoyable but at the same time draws a distinct line. The chidren know where that line is and they undertsand that there will be consequences if they are foolish enough to cross it.
