When you click on a discussion at MyLot.....

...and see that the MyLot member who started the thread writes something after every member's comment, does that persuade you more to post there? When I see that the person comes back to read people's thoughts, I repeatedly return to that thread, but when they just open a discussion and I see no comments from them, I usually don't post there at all.

Well when Mylot member who started the thread writes something after every member's comment then I really like the discussion because it gives a feeling that we are not talking to a wall and it feels nice too .. if I find some discussion interesting then I search for that discussion to which I have responded again just to see the update on the discussion.. No one really would like to talk to a wall .. and I guess many here will agree with this :)

Touchnshine, I think you're absolutely right. It IS like talking to a wall when there's no comment to your responces! That's why I prefer the threads that are more like CONVERSATIONS instead of taking a POLL or something.... Thanks for your post;)

For me, it really doesn't make a huge difference one way or another. I'm a poster who, when I have time, will try to respond to as many people as I can but at other times - I don't because I can't for various reasons. That's not to say I don't read every single response, because I do. If someone responds to my discussion - I promise I will read it. Sometimes I read them in my email because I'm busy doing something else or working on another site and do not have time to log in here and respond or read them but I always read every single email I get from MyLot about a person who had something to say in one of my discussions. If it's a lively discussion and alot of people are replying and the original poster is replying to everything and it's fun or interesting to me - then yes, I will tend to go back and keep reading or adding my two cents but most of the time, it doesn't affect how I read or browse this site.

Wow-you're like the ultimate poster-lol! That's so great. Yes, I read every post on threads I start too, even though my threads haven't been the most popular, so I don't really have much to keep up with :( I've even started silly discussions to try to "reign in" some more comments, but I just don't have a knack for it ;)
