It is always the man as the head of the family. He provides shelter, bring food to the table and pays all the bills. He is the one who take care and protect them from harm. The women has always been the housekeeper. She cleans and make sure there is food on the table. Caring and bringing up the children. Providng emotional and physical support to her husband. But as we move to the modern era, women goes out, work and perform the same responsibility as the men. While men, stays home and become the househusbands. Sometimes both are working but women will have to shoulder extra work when at home. The question is, if women go out to work and men stay at home, who is the head of the family? Will it still be the men or the women? If it still the men, what is the reasons?

I think it will still be the man, who will be the head of the family. In this times all woman have to work because the cost of living is too high. I should say that even a woman work, the man is will still be the head of the family, he makes the final decision.

I respect your response. What if the man say the the neighbouring is dangerous for your kid and that he made a decision to move out from there. Would you agree with his decision knowing taht moving means additional costs for you?

even if the family will rely upon the wife to earn for their keep, it will still be the man who is the head of the family. this is because, being the head of the family is a title for the husband to have for as long as he lives, for as long as the family is intact.

Of course. But a woman has always been the housewife/housekeeper but it has changed now that most women are working. Some even have an added work when they reached home. Do you think the title of head of the family should be equally shared among the men and women?

I suppose it is still men... maybe because of culture belief... then the extra load that women can do now that is suppose to be the responsibility of men gave women an added self respect and worth..men can no longer see women as "just women" Actually women is just sharing his partners responsibility... but the society still charge the full responsibility to men...
