How old are you now? 20? 30? At this point of time in your life... do you think you made yourself good, strong, wise enough to make your parents proud of having you as their daughter/son?

I don't think so. I'm young yet, I'm not even 18. But I think I may have a brilliant future if I know how to make the right investments. I already brought some proudness to them, when my teachers said I was a really good student, and all this stuff. People tell them I am a good boy, I am this and that. But I don't think that's enough. I'll make them proud if I can become half of the man my father is.

I'm afraid that he is not proud of me. I don't think he is: I'm a mess! He thinks I'm stupid (not intelligent), he thinks I'm incopetent and everything that I do, or almost everything goes wrong. I am almost sure he thinks like that. But come on, look at me: I'm 15 and I speak English, while I was born in Brazil! I speak two tongues, I don't have ANY real life friend at my age that can do it. Anyway, he seems to ignore this fact.

Right now I am 25 and my mom constantly tells me she is proud of the things my brother and I have done. I recently graduated college, held to my faith (even found more), survived cancer, and so much more. And little things like helping around the house makes her proud.

I don't think I have done anything considerably fantastic to make my parents or even myself proud. I have still not find that opportunity where you 'Are at the right place and at the right time!!" Some people have attained all at a young age but I am already in my thirties and still trying to discover more things in my life that I can take pride in... Sometimes I wonder whether I should just give up and throw in the towel and just live my life without any strong purpose at all... I think what I am going through could be a pre mid-life crisis..

I'm 50 and I don't know for sure. I think they are proud for some of my qualities because they know that it was from their education, but I'm not sure about the way I've dealed with my self problems. Having married three times it's not something to cheer..

well... rising up each time you fall is something you can be proud of... atleast you never loose the will to find your own happiness. AS long as you do no harm to anybody then there is nothing to worry about.
