So I am a quiet person and tend to stick to myself... I live in a large subdivision that is starting to become a Pain in the butt. THe police are not sure that they can do anything about it.. Basically its too big and there are a lot of section 8 homes (HUD homes) AND renters.. And renters in a new subdivision. not so fun.. THe renters on our road that are causing the trouble have their car jacked up on a BUCKET -what the heck? and its been that way for a while now.. And, they never cut their grass... its beginning to look like a jungle. In addition they have loud street parties A LOT. And they are out all hours of the day and night. WE have had issues with break ins so we are realy concerned and our culde sac is taking a stand together .. But I am starting to worry.. I do not think meanly but I think that some do and that scares me.. So last night they were being obnoxious outside being loud and BOOMING window shaking music and partying and pacing our street and in front of the house. I got scared and we called the police as did my other neighbors as we have had problems with gang activity before. I am not sure exactly what the police said to them BUT one of them got arrested. Now... I am just scared as to why and will they seek revenge? I know they know it was us here i the end that called as my husband and i and the other neighor all went outside to talk to the cop.... Previously we had a problem with the gang as I stated and they had us all blocked in our house we could not even leave it was scary. I have two young kids (9 mo and 3 1/2 yrs) so it was really scary... Any Advice? I have tried to sell... no luck.. We are joining the HOA and we just got new mgt co that took that over so hopefully that will help.... I hate being scared in my own home. But we have come home 3 (three) times to the house being broken into here... Scary!!!!

That sucks big time. I would imagine that you and your neighbors forwarded your concerns to the new HOA. I know first hand how frustrating that can be we used to live a half a block away from the projects in Philadelphia. And there was a period of time there before we moved that there was a rash of burglaries on my street. Solution # 1- I got a big dog a Sheppard Pitt bull mix. After a couple of days and he knew that was his territory he was like a maniac at the fence. My house was quickly marked for the dog and both of my neighbors to my left and right were robbed but fortunately they skipped mine. It is hard though when there is a lot of renters and section * people in the area as many have no vested interest in the home or the area. Good luck with this, I hope that you keep us updated on the progress.

Oh yes, absolutely we have talked to the new HOA and we are very involved now. I actually know a bit about real estate and plan on joining the board after the homeowners take over (the builder still runs a bit of the HOA as they are not completely finished yet... weird as its years old now...) But, yes I will definitely keep updating on this :) I am hoping that we can get our neighborhood cleaned up. All of us in the area that own have our yards kept up and just want to live a peaceful life soo we are hopefully by everyone joining forces and stepping up we can change it. BTW I like the sheppard pitt bull mix idea. But, My yard is TINY and not fenced yet.. and having two small kids not sure its a wise idea... ?

oh thats awful! i understand your fear completely. id just lock myself in and not go out late at night unless i HAD to, and keep the phone nearby just in case. but you cant live like that forever, and neither can your children so i wish you luck in selling your home. be safe:)
