In our busy days on myLot with our responding to so many discussions, some about similar matters, have you ever answered a discusssion and then come to find out you had previously answered it a few days earlier, but didn't remember?? We are all working towards increasing our number status on how many can we answer that sometimes we might overlook a discussions as that we had previously responded to them. I know I have caught myself doing this a few times, what about you?

Yes I did. I browsed one of my friends's discussions and I saw this topic regarding your partner being older than you. So I replied only to realize after the response was posted that I did post on the same discussion...there were only 5 people who responded in that discussion and two those repsonse were from me....same answer as I have on the first time I posted my response.

I might have - I wouldn't know lol. I try to make sure though by checking the pages if I think I might have answered the discussion before. I do my best, the rest is left to ??? :P

NO. But I have accidentally have replied twice in a row, literally. Something went slow or wrong and well two replies. I dont know what to do with the extras, so I let it go :)

I don't think so, although now you have me wondering. I guess I may have done so, but NOT been aware of it... yet. I do occasionally land on a discussion and it seems "very familiar," and I'll read through the answers and realize that I have already been there. This especially happens with some of the more prolific writers on my friends list, when one of their rather old discussions suddenly gets bumped to the front page.

I have done this a few times in the past. Whenever it happens, I can pretty much pick up on it a few minutes later after reading the other replies. Also, my own posts are basically the same, but just worded a little bit better the second time. That unmistakable feeling of deja vu smacks me in the face with the swiftness. Seeing as we cannot delete our own replies, I just go on about my business. I try to be a little more aware of what I reply to after something like that happens.

I don't know if I have actually done it but I have found myself checking to make sure. It is especially hard because I try to respond to discussions my friends made and of course all the popular ones are always at the top and since I am not on here as much anymore its hard for me to remember.

Yes, I think we've all done this at least once, although I was given some good advice one, if you go to a discussion and rate the actual discussion then if you go back to that discussion not knowing if you have responded or not you will see you have already rated it, therefore you have already responded! I now rely on all my notifications and once I have responded I will then delete that email.

LOL a few times...it was really embarassing!! sometimes, i tend to only respond to discussions that interest me, and i can't help but to respond to the same discussions hehe...but then, i realised that both responses may varies based on my feeling and thoughts at the moment of responding.

I have only done this once or twice. I try to remember to rate the discussion as soon as I answer it, then if I come back to it, and it says rated! I know I have answered it already. By the way, any discussion good enough for me to answer is good enough for a + rating. Another of my myLot friends pointed that out to me a long time ago.

that's exactly why a while back i had said to someone here that they should have a little mark or something on the discussion to let you know if you've responded already, or take off the respond to discussion tab if you've responded so that there's no issue in wondering if you did or not already, but no, i personally haven't, because i read, sometimes skim every response made to that discussion before i respond. But i've heard that mylot deletes one of the responses if you've responded 2ice anyway, so i guess it doesn't really matter, but i would personally like it if they had that tab, because sometimes people just don't remember.

LOL yes I've done this a few times. It is easily done though, when there are discussions with very similar topics and often I respond without looking all the way down the pages, particlarly if there are a lot of responses.

I have probably done this without realizing it. I really wish there was a way to flag the discussions you have responded to so it would prevent this from happening. I have seen this feature on other forums and it was very helpful. Maybe that is something Mylot can implement in the future.

So far I think I have done okay but I stand to be corrected if I have answered someones discussion twice. I did come across one of my discussion where someone answered it and then a day later answered again. I replied to both since they were a little different. :)

I caught myself at it once....but only after I saw that I didn't get credit for it....then checked back and saw that I had already responded to it. I just chaulked it up to a senior moment....they happen frequently. It was, however, on what that Had a large number of responses and I didn't take the time to read all the responses up to mine...had I done wo I wouldn't have answered twice. Today I almost did it again but since there weren't as many responses so I read them all....til I got to page my response was on and noticed that I had already rated the responses on that page which meant that I had already responded. +

I hope not... hahaha. I wouldn't be surprised. Sometimes, I get so into every discussion I get into that I don't even remember the ones that I have answers. But I always look through the other answers, so I am pretty sure I catch most of them. I have caught my self a few times before I have done it, hopefully none of these have gotten through... lol.

Hi texasclassygal. No I have not done that yet but I think one time I almost did. I saw a discussion that was of interest to me and started to answer it. But while I was answering I was thinking I have already answered a similar discussion. I looked at the username and I found that it was familiar to me... I erased my answer and went to see the answers to the discussion and there I see myself lol One time I read a discussion where the person was saying that somebody answered her discussion twice and the two answers were contradictory! I guess some people don't tell the truth on mylot heh? They just say what pops in their head at the moment and of course nobody can know whether it is the truth or not.

I don't believe I've ever answered the same discussion twice, but I have to look carefully at the discussion to make sure. The problem arises when different discussions on the same topic, which are similarly worded makes it hard to determine if I've answwered or not. I also look at the time it was posted.
