I was reading an article and thought I would share some info about pool alarms. On average more than 300 children under the age of 15 drown in swimming pools every year according to federal data in the US. This is a list of the pool alarms that were tested and how well they were rated. These were the best: Brand Price Type Meet standards? Pool Guard PGRM-AG $140 Above ground Yes comments sounded within 20 seconds Pool Guard PGRM-2 $225 In Ground Yes comments sounded within 20 seconds Not Recommended Brand Price Type Meet standards? PoolEye PE13 $110 Above ground No comments sounded within 20 seconds PRONE TO FALSE ALARMS Not Acceptable Brand Price Type Meet Standards? Pool S.O.S. $80 above or in ground No comments failed to sound within 20 seconds PoolEye PE21 $150 In ground NO comments failed to sound within 20 seconds Pool Patrol PA-30 $200 above or in ground NO comments failed to sound within 20 seconds I hope that you find this interesting. I just wanted to share this information as I know that pool season is upon us and I have had a friend whose daughter lost a daughter when she fell in the pool and drowned.

It's so sad when small children drown because of non-supervision. However, every mother knows her eyes cannot be everywhere all the time. Pool alarms are a great idea. Thanks for this discussion.
