Home advantage surely proves to be a big factor. But this hasn't been the case in any of the world cup so far as no team has won the world cup in their own country. Though we can say that 2011 world cup will be a chance for a home team to win the worldcup for the first time as there will be three home teams of India, Pakistan and Sri lanka hosting the world cup. It will certainly be a big chance for the Indian team to win the cup too as we all know how things change when India plays in front of their home crowd. As recently Kumar sangakkara said that the Indian team thrives on its big crowd support so i hope his words come true in 2011 world cup.

Whatever may be the team, whatever may be the venue, there are going to be no changes in the play of the Indian cricketers.. It's India .. they have got the blood of India ...we people wont allow good changes.. I am sorry if this will hurt you
