Komodo Island is an island located in Nusa Tengara islands in Indonesia. This island is famous as the natural habitat of komodo dragon. This Island is part of Komodo National Park that runned by the Goverment. Komodo island is West from Sumbawa Island. The National Park itself consist of 3 major island. Komodo, Rinca, and Padar, and a few little island. The vast of land for this Park is 603 Km2. In 1980 the national park it self establih to protect the komodo dragon and its habitat. The islands itseft is a vulcanic island. the number of citizen is about 4000 person. in 1986 this Komodo National Park accepted as world site by UNESCO. The natural spesies itself (Komodo Dragon/ Varanus komodoensis) is the biggest lizzard in the world, the length of the reptile can reach 3 meter with weight of 85 kg. Komodo dragon has a strong smell sense and regarded as the most intelegent reptile, especially for hunting its prey. The dragon has a strong bite and the saliva has about 60 species of bacteria that make them very poisonous. the have an anti bacteria for themselve. the number for human victiom by they bite is the past 30 years is little, about a dozen, most of them (the victim) not a natural inhabitant of the island. There is about 2500 komodo that live in Flores Islands in Indonesia. If you have time and money visit the Komodo Dragon Island. I'm sure its fun to watch those dragons.
