I still live with my parents - so the decor is their choice. Its white, stripey anaglypter (sp?) . and I hate it. We've got a cream carpet (yeah, practical)and a green leather sofa. Coz, ya know, that matches. :) I'd prefer paint in there. Paint is good :)

Kindof a very light olive/grey color with tan carpet. Sounds very boring I know but it's really nice with the bright white wood trim. Our master bathroom is painted light pink. :)

mine is rather boring magnolia : ( matte emulsion on the walls. Beige/grey tiles. Not a screed of colour! But this shall change. You see, we just moved to a new place and this house is least out for the forseeable future. I plan on buying vintage wallpaper and doing one or two feature walls.

I don't like having my walls papered. My walls are all white painted. oh the floor covering changes depending on the room we are talking about..it is light green in the living room and in the entrance room..it is nearly creamy in the corridor..in the kitchen there is a covering similar to terracotta files..in the two bedrooms I have wood-block floor..oh...the floor covering is changing again in the bathrooms..there it matches with the colours I chose for the bathroom itself...

Hiya - My front room (drawing/sitting room) has off white coloured walls with hardwood floors. I have a sofa set a coffee table and the TV - what makes the room is the many little things such as painting, vases and other decoration that characterizes my personality. What about your room Simon??

Well my front room leads into a dinning area and kitchen. My front room is painted green (soft moss) and natural calico, with white gloss work, skirting and architrave to my own design and a floor from oak I reclaimed from an old pub. The kitchen dinning area is painted in a terracotta colour I had mixed with ceramic tiles and bespoke kitchen units in English Ash. I have Chesterfield sofas and chairs in red leather and a zebra patterned rug on the floor. I some have done some moulding work on the doors, which were otherwise flush. Now I am wondering about my bedroom, just plastered it and put in skirting boards, now I must paint and carpet. all the best urban

Now why would you think it wouldn't work? All those rules about what goes with what are hokum. De Gustibus non disputandum, as they say; these is no right and wrong in matters of taste. In fact, that kind of following rules as to what goes together displays a lack of taste. People told me lots of the things I did were wrong and now say how good it looks. Think about the beauty of nature and how if defies those rules. all the best urban

I love the drawing room leading into the kitchen especially when they are separated by a bar like counter; I am working in doing that to my place. The description of your room sounds really nice - would you consider posting couple of pictures, I am curious on how does the zebra rug match your red leather sofa-

The wall of our front room is painted with a color they say suid or sweed, I am not sure. It is a pale light purple sort of color. However it is nice for the walls. The floor covering is deep maroon so as to match with the sofa cushions. The furniture pieces in the front room are made of some creamy white wood the name of which is not known to me in English. Anyway it looks fine.
