I have two cats. A male that always grooms himself, and cleans himself. I have a female, that never ever cleans herself. Why is that?

Is she fat? Maybe she can't reach around to wash. I had a cat that kept himself very clean until he became ill. After that, he didn't groom himself anymore.

She is a bit fat. Do you think that's what it is? She is clean in the litter.

That is strange. Both of my cats, a female and a male, are always cleaning themselves. I think I read somewherethat if a cat is bored and disinterested, it will even stop grooming itself. Maybe she needs to be spoiled more often and given more attention.

She is spoiled rotten, trust me. I am home all day and just love and buy and play and hold them constantly.

That is an unusual cat. I've always known that cat always groom themselves. They spend their time grooming and sleeping the whole day... You have a queer cat.

Did it start recently? Maybe she is not feeling well and a trip to the vet is in order. I have never heard of a cat not cleaning it self unless it was really sick.

She is waiting on her handmaidens or the male to give a nice wash.

Cats are individuals. It's strange that your female never cleans herself. Maybe her mother didn't teach her to clean. My female cat cleans her belly so much that she's groomed all the hair off her belly. LOL I have four cats and they all clean themselves differently and vary in how much they clean themselves.
