Do you sit more, stand more or move more at work?

At my old job I stood on my feet for 8 hours a day in pretty well one position. I worked as a bank teller, and although we had padded mats to stand on, you really couldn't leave your wicket very often, so it was very hard on the knees and feet. In my current job I sit for 3/4 of the day, although I have the freedom to get up and go for a walk to go visit someone or drop something off, which helps because I find sitting all day to be monotonous and hard on the back. What about you? Do you sit, stand or move around more at your job?

I sit mostly during the day, except for when I make my rounds to see that everyone is keeping up the good work.

Most of my time is to sit to work in the office. Occasionally I will also walk around in the office. I seldom have to go out for business.

Currently. I'm on long term disability but my job entails answering the phone and using a computer all day. Which means I'm sitting unless I go to lunch or to the bathroom or taking a 15 minute break. I agree sitting all day is monotonous.

Well I work from home but I stand and walk most of the time because I am constantly having to get items I need to make the candles/soap. I also have to lift a lot especialyl with boxes of wax. When I worked out of the house, it was always sitting in a chair at a desk. I like the moving around a lot more :)

I work in software development so most days I am sitting down, but on certain days when I have to follow up on people and talk to some team mates, I really have to be up and about. I'm up and about maybe 10% of the time, this is because we also have instant messaging in the office so we don't need to stand up as much when we just need to ask a simple question.

I walk around town all day long. My doctor says its very good for me, at my age, to have this daily exercise but I find it quite hard to be walking around a noisy, dusty, traffic-filled town everyday just doing the same things. I certainly could not stand up for 8 hours or sit for 6 hours at a time. When I do that the effect is just as bad as all the walking. What I have to do is variate my activity by doing all three of these things, walking, standing, sitting, in a reasonable set of turns.
