I think I've just had a Bad Experience worth Sharing

You know how there are these Paid Health Studies out there for Diabetes, and the issues we go thru day to day. Well, about a month or so back, I chose to do one for Neuropathy in your feet. It pays $275 when you are done, so I thought this would be something worth while, and since I do experience Neuropathy, I felt this would be worth trying. I was given a Cream to try on my feet... It could end up being a placebo... Who knows? But the issue right now, is the leg that is prone to Celulitis, is all Red, and a little sore right now. It does not look like it will get Cellulitis like I might have thought yesterday, but I am still not wanting to continue doing this Trial if it is going to Cause other Medical issues. I am supposed to go in tomorrow, and talk with them, and decide what to do from here, but I just wanted to share my experience, and get your thoughts, and go from there. Has anyone else ever had this happen to them? What would you do?

Well actually I have never heard of any paid Health Studies, maybe they are only applying to where you live. That is quite a bit of money that they offer you. Well it does not seem that this particular cream is working for you does it, and hopefully it does not give you other Medical issues. well I would still go in and talk to them and give them your opinion as maybe this particular cream does not work for everyone and that is mainly what they studies would be for to have positive and negative ratings on the cream and other products. No I have not attempted one of these products but I do surveys offline and they do these ways to find out exactly if the product needs updating or adding something else so that it will work and be successful.

These might be limited to certain areas, but I hear about them all of the time here in the Seattle area. They are a good thought, and might be worth considering for people who are not so sensitive to medication like I am. I did quit this program since I posted this.

No And I wouldnt even think of doing one of those studies. Not for all the money in the world. Its simply not worth it to my health. I value my health alot and want to live a nice healthy life. No thankyou mam. What are going to do if it caused a health problem? Are they going to be there for you? Are they going to pay for your health problems?

Well, I am meeting with them today to see what my next step is. My leg is really Red, and Swollen, and hurts today. My foot is so Swollen it hurt to put my shoe on, so I hope I will be compemsated somehow besides the $$ I was supposed to earn from this. I will never do anything that is a lotion, etc. again since my leg is so sensitive.

I have never been in a study but I think I would be getting out of the study, if it was me. I don't think te $275 is worth causing more damage to my health. You are the only one that can make that decision but I would be worried that it might do me more harm than good Good luck to you in whatever you decide to do.

I would be interested in hearing what you find out once you visit with them. They may pull you from the study, as I am sure they would not want it said that their new treatment "May cause cellulitis" I hope your leg feels better soon. I think I would try to be in a medical study, but so far nothing I have seen pertains to me. My hubby got turned down for an alzheimers/dementia study as he could pass their tests.LOL He still forgets an awful lot.

I have often thought about those health studies mainly because it may help someone else. But I suppose there are some dangers with it and I would have to really think about it before I did anything like that. I don't blame you for wanting to quit but make sure that it is the cream that is causing the trouble and not something else that just happened to pop up.

Cellulitis is dangerous...glad to hear you don't think that is what this is. Whatever it is, I wouldn't want to continue the treatment. Perhaps you are alergic to something in the cream. Talking to them is okay, but I don't think I'd continue the cream.

Good morning Krausehome. I Just read about Cellulitis. It sounds very scarry. I do hope that it turns out ok. I don't think I would want to continue with the program ether. If a real problem developes will they pay for any medical expence. I really hope every thing is ok.

I've never realized that clinical trials can be as dangerous like yours. I have no experience joining in such but my mother might get into one since the medicine she is taking is quite expensive as she has cancer and is needing such medicine to have a better chance that tumor will not grow anymore. But to afford it the doctor has suggested to have my mother enrolled in a study to see if it is really effective or not. I hope my mother would not experience like yours.
