...but only after we've settled all the details about the oganizational committee meetings, rework the agenda at least 20 times, worry over attendence, what sort of snacks we'll serve, the seating arrangements... Oh, we'll never get everything right. Let's just call the whole thing off. Probably a bad idea anyway! This could be the story of my life. Often, I'll have a great idea...well, okay, at least a good idea...and I'll get so bogged down in all the details that I never actually even begin it. I get frustrated that I can't get everything set up "just right" and I wind up walking away from it, sadly shaking my head and muttering to myself. Case in point: for a long time, I've been wanting to start a blog. Now, on several occasions, I've even signed up at one of the various sites and once or twice, even published an entry or two. Alas, for one reason or another, they've all floundered and were promptly forgotten. I know I can't be alone. How many of you can relate? Have you been able to get past this? If so, then how did YOU do it? Anyone interested in starting a Perfectionists Anonymous support group? Just let me know and I'll get things organized and set up... ;)

I'm working on it! OK now...what sort of font should I use? Will the text color contrast enough with the background, or will it clash? We really should have some sort of logo... Hmmm...PA....it's not that catchy...we should think of a really cool sounding acronym to use....

Candy Apples? LoL! So, there's another perfectionist out there, is there? Be still my heart! I'm an editor/website designer, so my perfectionism comes by way of not only grammar, but design. Is it the right colour? Are those images equidistant from one another? Does that look too pixelated? Is the page too sparce? But what else should I include? Should I sort it alphebetically, or chronilogically? Oh, I need help. Lots. I try to focus one ONE aspect of what I'm doing, rather than FIVE. The problem is, after having been frustrated by that one, I move on to the next, leaving it unfinished. We do need an anonymous group, methinks.

I would have to crash the party! lol I am such a NON perfectionist! But, I was raised by a perfectionist. I have since determined that he is OCD. I wonder where the line is drawn on perfectionism and OCD... I'm always intrigued by perfectionists. I really just don't get it. Life is NOT perfect. Nothing in life is perfect! Some of the most beautiful things in the world are flawed! I'm not scolding here, just adding my 2 cents and a bit of imperfection your your discussion. ;-) I think if you all were holding a real life perfectionist convention, I'd have to run into the place and mess up all the tablecloths and center pieces just for kicks!
