Should Ehud Olmert resign?

The Israeli Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert is under intense pressure after Monday's damning report into his handling of the war in Lebanon. Can he survive? Mr Olmert has rejected growing calls from his own party to resign over his handling of last year's war in Lebanon. The Foreign Minister, Tzipi Livni, said Mr Olmert should step down to restore public trust in the government and expressed interest in succeeding him. The conflict began last July after Hezbollah captured two Israeli soldiers in Israel - the soldiers are still in captivity. Do you live in Israel? How do you think the war was handled? Can Ehud Olmert survive the political pressure he now faces? What is the egacy of the conflict?

Yes, Olmert should resign. He messed up badly and entered into a war without properly thinking through all the ramifications. He has no public support. I live in Israel and cannot believe how Olmert can stay in power after the Winograd Report' intermediate findings. We can do better with someone else, and not Shimon Peres either.

Yes, Ehud Olmert should step down. If Golda Meir stepped down after the Yom Kippur war, which turned out not too badly for Israel, then the 2nd Lebanon War which was a disaster, Olmert should resign and never enter poltics again!!
