In hiring someone to do a job, what would you consider more, talent or experience?

I think that attitude trumps both of those. I would take a candidate with a great attitude and work ethic over someone with a ton of experience and a poor attitude any day! Having a talent for the work is also quite important but I would look for the attitude. You can always teach someone new skills, but it's very hard to teach a positive can-do attitude!

That's a really good point, too. I think that people with more experience in a field would likely have an attitude suited for the job, since they have been doing it for so long.

For successful completion of a job no doubt talent is mandatory, but one cannot underestimate the experience. When talent fails to diagnoise a problem and find a solution, it is the experience that comes to the rescue. So ultimately the experience that matters much more than talent.

Excellent question! It really depends on the job I am interviewing for. In a creative field with lots of leeway (big budget, plenty of time, etc.), I'd definitely go for talent. But if it was a logical-type of job or if there were constraints (such as a tight deadline or budget, etc.), then experience would win out.

i would give more weightage to talent.a talented person can gain experience and learn pretty fast but a person with a lot of experience may not have much talent and thus may not have good chances of growth.
