Child Care At A Casino

This happened in April and the man plead guilty today. read the whole story to find out his sentence. This is unreal. Gambling addiction or any type of addiction does this to people now days. If you put a toddler in a casino's day care, make sure you save enough of your bankroll to get him out. An inability to pay child care fees at Treasure Island Resort and Casino is what sparked events that landed a shoeless toddler on a St. Paul street corner, his mother in jail and her boyfriend at the center of a false police report, according to a criminal complaint against a St. Paul man. http://www.startribune.com/467/story/1163541.html HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

OMG! That is just disgusting! i can't believe they would gamble away all their money knowing they needed enough left to get their child out of the child care facility at the casino. This is just sick.

Wow, do i feel stupid! i responded to this before readin the story, for some reason thinking i got the picture without reading it. i thought they had put the child in care at the casino and gambled away too much to have enough to get him out! Now that i see that is not the case and they just LEFT HIM ON A CORNER i am even MORE angry!

I had to read that one 3-4 times to get what they were saying. I think the writer should be taken out back and shot, it could have been made so much clearer. The whole story is a bit confusing the way it is laid out. What I got from it though was that they couldn't get him out of the daycare so she left to go get more moeny and got arrested. The boyfriend got the kid out of the daycare and not wating to take care of him filed a police report saying that he found the kid on the street corner. I think they both are where they belong and I hope the boy is found a loving and caring home.

Yeah I hate resind the papers here also. We have some very bad writers for the Star Tribune. This is so idiotic. Addictions cause people to do things we normally wouldn't do.

I am not that great of a writer myself but maybe I should rethink becoming a journalist lol. It is a sad story and I do hope that all goes well for that little boy. If you hear anything new please keep me updated!

Wow, that store was poorly written. My qustion is: What would the casino have done if they couldnt afford to get the child outta child care? I mean, they cant just keep your kid cause you owe them money. Can they? In any case, that's a sad story. The parents should've made sure that they saved enough to get him outta child care in the first place. Then when the mom got in jail, the boyfriend should've taken care of the child. If my boyfriend ever done anything like that, I would kill him. Bad parenting no matter how you look at it.

Some casinos ask for your Drivers License as a deposit. If you don't return they call the police then bill you an outrageous amount via mail I think. Yes the writers here are really terrible. I hate reading the Star Trib and St Paul Pioneer Press is just as bad I think. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

That is just bad,.. They shouldnt even have childcare at a place like that - but i guess all to make money- Maybe this will have them atleast take the fee out before.

I'm not sure that they should be having Child Care Centres in a casino in the first place! Why encourage parents to gamble, when they should be with their kids, spending quality time. Child Care Centres should only be for working parets & respite.

The reason being is that there are Hotels/Motels there also. Many familys go to the casions for weekend trips. I used to take mine. But they were old enough to be left alone. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I really am touche' Grandpa Bob when it comes to gambling because gambling was the biggest reason why my marriage ended and it doesn't surprise me that it happened to the child because gambling can do worst. If my husband could only sell his entire family, he would have done it just to have more money for gambling. Sure enough, he has already sold his soul and thrown away his self respect. We would have ended worst than the child if I had gone on tolerating his addiction. I hope that the child would find a new home and family that would give him the best environment to grow into. It is clearly evident that his real family is incapable of taking care of him and he would be better off somewhere. Happy ranting!

You really should have to pass some sort of a test in order to be allowed the privelage of being a parent. For Pete's sake, people need to get their priorities straight. What could possibly be more important than the safety and well being of your child? Even if you won a million dollars, would it be worth it? What kind of message is this sending to him? There are so many people out there who desperately want a child to love and can't have them. What is wrong with some people?
