Can you concentrate on doing your work in a noisy place?

When i was in college, i can study or do some stuffs related to the subject even if the place is full of students. But now since im working in a call center where a lot of people is talkin around you, i really cant concentrate. Bcoz you have to be focused or else the person you're talkin will be irate. So before i log in i have to make sure that the person sitting beside me dont have a loud voice...

Of course you can work in noisy place, wear your ear plug.

Actually, yes! I seem to be able to tune just about everything else out til it's just a buzzing in my ear. If I'm reading or something, I get absorbed into what's going on and am utterly clueless about what's happening around me.
