***Have you ever seen God?

Okay, I am not too religious so maybe God physically does visit people and I just haven't been visited yet. There are lots of crazy people out there who may claim that they have seen God in the physical form. So do you know anyone that claims to have seen the Lord and are they crazy or am I just not one of his children. Does this discussion make you think?

I don't have any religious beliefs and I don't know anyone that claims to have seen God. If someone told me they had I would probably be like most people and think they were nuts or wonder what they had taken. I see your point though - we all assume we're right and anyone that acts or thinks differently is immediately labelled a nutter which is fairly arrogant when we're talking about things that no-one can really be 100% sure about anyway. If there really was a "second coming" Jesus would probably be sectioned under the Mental Health Act!

I am not religious in the Christian sense, but I have my beliefs. They just don't encompass a certain, specific being as 'God'. That being the case, I am never going to see 'my' 'god'. Presences can be felt, but whether it is a genuine presence, a figment of my imagination, or something else, I have no definitive way of knowing. I'm not god, nor am I all knowing and omnipotent, so who I am to say fro sure one way or the other? I used to work with some odd ducks, and one in particular 'heard' 'god' on a daily basis. I can't remember whether he saw him or not. He was always happy to relay God's message to us, however. He also, according to him, was responsible for the broadcast of CNN, it was all being channeled through him. He was a fairly severe schizophrenic, but he made some interesting conversation. That isn't even to say someone who was mentally ill was crazy in this particular regard. I knew another schizophrenic who was also an ex-nun. She NEVER claimed to see or speak to god (althoug she did talk to her baby dolls as though they were alive and reacted as though they were talking to her). You would think someone so steeped in religious beliefs, because she often talked about religion, or explained the meanings of certain holy days and so forth, would have been having god visions, but she never did. Instead, she would pick up really obscure, bizare pieces of information from no one knew where and it was spooky. It was like she had some sensitivity or mental radar that let her get information and ideas from...no one knew where but she did it to all of us. She used to call me by my sister's name (not a common name) and she couldn't have known it. She knew I was pregnant when it was still a big secret. She knew my baby's father was on the way home from across the border before he called and told me. She knew my missing dog had returned home. She told me he was fine and he was. He was sitting on the couch when I got in. Things like that. Lots of things like that, to lots of different people. Maybe 'crazy' people somehow have the ability to see, hear, and know things the rest of us can't pick up. Jus a thought :-)

Well a gain this kind of backs up my theory of the "normal" people are the crazy ones. Maybe this exnun was totally with it. More so than people like to believe. Maybe we are the crazy ones choosing to ignore all the things this ex nun didn't.

She was on a whole nother plane than the rest of us but she would pluck the most strange todbits out of the air. She was really spooky looking too, like she was in tune with something, or listening to a channel that no one else could hear.

Do not think that only those who worship a picture or image with pompous paraphernalia are devotees. Whoever walks straight along the moral path, whoever acts as he speaks and speaks as he has seen, whoever melts at another's woe and exults at another's joy .... is a devotee, perhaps a greater devotee.

No I haven't had the pleasure personally. I have seen and felt spiritual presences, that was yummy, totally out of this world in fact.
