I belong to a site called swap-bot in which members can create swapping challenges to swap or trade things with their assigned partner. I love being in the craft swaps and giving and receiving nice things from others. Have others learned of this great hobby? What do you think of such a community?

i have never heard of this site but it sounds like it would be a good site to join do they allow you to sell things from the site and do they charge you to use the site i am not interested in joining any sites that charge you to use them i think this site is a good way to get new ideas of what else you could make i do not quite like swaping crafts though i would much rather just sell them but i do think it is a good community but you really would have to be trust that other person

I used to do a lot of swaps threw yahoo groups. I started using swap-bot last month & I love it. I have started making inchies & ATCs. It is a big deal for me since I am not a crafty person at all.

I post and am a memeber of an online crafting bullient board called www.craftster.org. They have TONS of craft swaps there. There is a whole section of the board just deticated to swaps. I have participated in many of them and have always had a lot of Fun. The crafts I recieved were great, and it's a lot of fun to make things for other people too. Most ofthen I have done wswaps centered around my favorite TV shows (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Firefly), but I have also done a Cartoon swap, a travel swap, and a craft supply swap. I would definately remeond trying swapping if you haven't. Just be sure you are doing it though an espablished site. It would be so sad to put in a lot of work on your things to get nothing in return.

This sounds like it would be like a great site to be on. I just don't do enough crafts to belong to a site like this.

I attend Pow Wows and at many of them they have a "Trading Blanket" where when it is your turn yu put something on the blanket that you wish to trade . Each other person will put something on the blanket (if they have anythig that they wish to trade for yours). After every one has put down what they want to trade for your item(s) thn you look and if you see anything that you like and wish to trade you pick that item up (as well as yours (now theirs) and take it to them and shake hands . You will reply "Good trade". Then the next person to yur left will put something on the blankes and it goes around for as ong as any body has anything to trad ot until a set time.

I have never heard of it but it sounds like a really cool site. How does it work? Do you choose what type of crafts you would like to swap, or is it just kind of random who you swap with? I'm going to have to check it out.
