What do you think about?

I think that the original Star Wars 4, 5, and 6 were the best. However, they have now taken all of the special effects that we can engineer and make 1, 2, and 3 cinematically amazing. I think that they should now go back and remake 4, 5, and 6 to look more advanced to keep up with the other 3. What are your opinions?

I hope they don't remake them. To try and do so would mean recasting all the characters. I cannot picture anyone else as Han Solo then Harrison Ford, Mark Hamil as Luke or Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia. It just won't work out right. I saw the original in the theaters and the effects were very good and really are still good. No they might not be on par with the newer ones but they don't look cheesy. I hope they keep the originals as they are.

I think if he did remake them they wouldn't go over at all. Too many love the originals. Maybe in another ten years he could without a problem but right now there are too many of us that like the ones we grew up with.

That seems to be the general consensus here. I think that with this kind of response on a website, that is what I could expect were George Lucas would recieve if he were to remake 4, 5, and 6. Am I right?

Well, I agree with you, that time is a marketing flaw. However, wouldn't you go after he made them? Just, out of curiosity? While many people would not favor it, they will go because they enjoy the series, and others it would have never been a question, they will go because it is Star Wars. I just think that even though many people like the idea, they like the series enough to go see the revised editions. What do you think?

they could do that..but the thing is the story is already out..and you must remember that the reason star wars was a hit back then was because of the actors who played those roles back then..and you cant get them to act again...and all....so um...maybe not possible that they will be hitz...but nice idea though..but i think people are more curious to know what happens after THE RETURN OF THE JEDI....

I understand that, it is a risk to substitute new characters. However, there are thousands of people in Hollywood. Someone would fit the bill. If they did make a new cast, the worst thing they could do is try to find look-a-likes. It would only make it worse. I think it might not be such a bad thing if they did, though.

ah, ok. I wasn't sure what you meant. Yeah, you are right about that. In remaking the movies there will be a lot of drawbacks, but there will probably not be too much of a difference. Many will go just because it's Star Wars, others will go to see it redone, and others will go out of curiosity.

I love all the movies they made. I wouldn't want them to change anything. I just wish they added more story to the newest ones. They didn't say much about the major characters and that kinda bothers me every time I watch the movies.

I saw 4, 5, and 6 as a child in the movie theaters. All of the revisions that have been made to those movies so far just make me sad. I finally managed to get the original theatrical versions on DVD, and that is the way that I think those movies should be preserved forever. I think if George Lucas remade those movies to be more advanced, he would just add in more crazy stuff. Even if 4, 5, and 6 aren't cinematically amazing compared with modern movies, they were pretty top-notch for their time, and after being digitally remastered for DVD, they're good enough for me!

You have a very nostalgic perspective on it. I think they are great the way they are, too. I just have this growing curiosity of what they would be like. I just feel like there is an inadequacy between the new three, and the classics. I wish that they would have not made the new three as advanced as they did. However, it isn't so much for the aims of replacing the classic 3, as it is to simply see what George Lucas envisioned, given more conducive mediums.
