Do you think you suffer from depression?

Hello there, several months ago I was at a low in my life and it wasn't until a family member gave me a book on clinical depression that I finally realised it wasnt just me. So far Ive been feeling better about myself although the situation I was in at the time has changed, for the moment anyway. I just would like to know if anyone else has had this or even thinks they may be in the same boat, if you do have days where you have no motivation, no desire to do anything not even look at yourself in the mirror, maybe reading about this topic my open a door in to a brighter day tomorrow.

I been really depressed last winter, under circumstances...loneliness, awful job that I had to keep for we were broke, I was new to the area, nobody to talk to, fighting with my husband every day...sadness overcame me for about 3 month. What really I have to say is that spring came and I was all right, but I remember the sad times and really it is good if you can reach out for some help from your friends, but remember - you have yourself to take care of...understand your needs, what makes your sad and depressed, and how to deal with it... Maybe you are just tired and need a break, go to the spa and see if your dark clouds will blow away... :)

I was diagnosed with depression a couple of months ago and was suffering from a lot of the same things as you. I didn't want to go out, and when I did get up the nerve to do so I was a nervous wreck. I had at least 2 days out of the week where I just felt like I was going to burst into tears for no reason. This went on for a long time (years) before I finally went into therapy. I am now on Lexapro and it has been incredible for me. I feel great now....hope you can get out of it too.

What you say about the tears is so true, some days i would just have to take myself away from the people around me for fear of exploding in to the tears and not having a clue how to explain myself. Oh well... But im feeling a lot better at the moment.

i think no one never gone through this situation , no motivation , no desire and hating the mirror , it is the human nature , some days sad and some happy and others so happy , the important thing that you have to be strong to face your problems , any way they come and go , sure come and sure they will go , night never last for ever !!

Yes ! I get depressed when I am short of funds to meet my needs. Nowadays it happens quite often ..financial worries reflect very much on my personal life as well as career.
