I would have been disappointed to see anyone else go tonight. Even with Blake's off night I felt he deserved to stay more than Lakisha. He seems to be more into the spirit of the competition than she is. Here is a previous post I've written: I have posted a similar discussion before and now I feel even more so.... it is time for Lakisha to go home. I hope to get my wish tonight. She has performed well on many shows, and I do believe she has a great big ole voice that could take her many places in her life. But I hope, I hope, I hope she is not our next American Idol. She has not taken the advice of one single industry expert through out this season, not one! Last night, she ignored it again. Who does she think she is? She is being offered a lot as a contestant on this program and it is like she throws it back in their face. She admits to never having any formal training. You would think she would humble herself a bit and realize that now she is getting it from some of the best. She admits to deliberately keeping herself distanced from the other contestants (and for good reason, in her mind I am sure) but maybe it is time that she go home to her daughter and have some time to think about it all before the tour begins and she has to leave her daughter again. I hope we hear Melinda, you are safe, Jordin you are safe, Blake you are safe. Let's take a look at Lakisha's road with American Idol.

I agree with you 100% but I am afraid next week it'll be: Blake, you are going home!

Yes i knew it would be her and Blake is probably next. She seemed to have lost the thrill of it and like you said not taking any advice. Next week is probably Blake. Hoping to see Jordin win.

Me! I'm also glad to see Lakisha go. Not that she isn't deserving to be the next American Idol. It's just that I'm not sure if she's passionate with what she does. Her personality, for me, is not the American Idol type. Sure, she's got the voice but i think something's missing. I'm not sure what it is.. the final three deserve it. I hope Blake surprises America with a gut-busting song. Hehe. To the other girls, i know they'll do well.

I agree. She's got the voice, just not the Am. Idol passion.

I liked Lakisha, and I felt bad for her as she is a struggling mom. I actually like her a whole lot better than Fantasia !! BUT, I agree on the final 3, I think Blake and Jordin will go into the final two, here's why: While Melinda has a great voice, I just don't see the "spark" or personality from her. Blake and Jordin have personality, charm, and that little something that makes you want to watch them. They are performers. Melinda has a voice, but lacks the oomph needed to grab attention. I love Blake, but in the end, I think Jordin will be the next Idol.

Lakisha will have a singing career no matter what. So will the remaining contestants. Jordin should certainly have a great contract from someone and I think Melinda will too. Blake - we will be seeing a lot of him in the future whether he wins or not. He is fresh and innovative. They are all great vocalists with a very long road ahead.

I really liked LaKisha at the start, but I have to agree with you. She does have a great voice, but unlike Melinda and Jordin, she doesn't show a lot of versatility. I think Blake could well be in the last two, because I think Melinda and Jordin will split the votes because they are both so good, and one of them will leave next week. We shall see.

My husband feels the same way you do about splitting the votes.
