Try to have some practice. I thought the verbal parts were more difficult to me, so I spent about 2 weeks in memorizing the words.

I am preparing for the GRE currently. I would get your standard Princeton Review, Kaplan, and Barron books and just practice on as many questions as you can. The GRE is designed to test your intellectual ability rather than specific knowledge. So, being familiar with the test format and types of question is your best bet.

I got that Barron's book and I'm going through it one section at a time. It is very thorough. The only problem is, it is taking me a lot longer to study than I had initially anticipated. So that is kind of bad since I also need to study for and take the MCAT this summer.

Yay, I'm also studying, but I have more than a few weeks. But is it even worth going to graduate school? And, how are you all studying? I've been told that vocabulary is the key, and that if you know your vocabulary, then you will score high. But how in the heck am i going to memorize thousands of words?Does anybody have the Big Book (you know, the one with thousands of questions). And, how about some websites where I can practice. I've found a few (www.number2.com and www.mygretutor.com), but I need more practice! Can somebody who is already in grad school please! let us know what they thought of the GRE, how their application process went, and what they did to prepare. Thanks:)

Practice makes anyone perfect. Try taking some personal tests for Practice. The more you get to answer, the more ease your feel to present yourself in GRE.

I notice you are chinese as me, so I need not suspect you ability. In some ways, chinee student are supermen to take a test . I don't know whether or not it's appropriate to respond a year later, because I recently have been busy preparing the test. You should be familiar with the structure of the test(test format ). pay more attention to the verbal part. be confronted with yourself ......you can manage it After all ,it is only a test, nothing worthy worrying

The best way I have found to study for the GRE is to take some practice tests and see which areas you could do better on. Then find a good GRE preparation book that will help you study those areas. You don't need to spend as much time studying the parts that you are already good at--just focus on the parts where you could improve your score.
