When PS3 came out people begun to camp out at Best Buy at 5 PM -before the store even closes for the night just to get one. Today Dollar it launched here and people begun camping out at 5 am before the store opened at 9 just to get camping fold up chairs that retail for $20.00-$40.00 for a dollar and a wicker patio table and two chair set that was selling for just three dollars. When my hubby and son got there at 7:45 there were about 150 already in line. Have you ever lined up or camped outside of a store for deals?

Wow that's crazy! I don't think I could do that! I remember we went to walmart a day before the PS3 came out, and there was like 20 people already in line, with tents and everything. The only time I ever waited in line for a long time, was to get star wars tickets, I was 5 months pregnant with my first son, and my ex husband wanted tix, but didn't want to wait and had me do it (good thing he's an EX!!!!). I waited for about 6 hours in the sun and I said NEVER AGAIN!

Nope, personally I prefer pre-ordering instead or otherwise simply waiting a week to get the item anyways.

I have to say taht yes I have. back in 1987 when the Teenage Mutent Nija Turtles first came out and they were selling 14 inch moveable figures the store only had 20 of them come in and I stood in line for 10 hours and yes I got not one but two of them for both of my boys and they still have them to this day. and I have also stood in a line in 1985 for a Holiday Barbie for my daughter.

Wow I would have love to get in on those deals but not enough to even think about sitting in line. I am not a very patient person to begin with, add a hunderd or more people standng around waiting for the same thing.. not a good mix lol. I remember years ago the lines for the cabbage patch kids and how people were actually being seriously hurt and even killed over them. There have been a few times when I woud have liked to but I am just not into self-torture lol.

I waited about 20 minutes before the store opened to preorder a Nintendo Wii. I think that's the only time I intentionally got to a store before it opened to get in right away.

I am the poor sap she is referring too, as I and our son stood out there in the freezing, gloomy spring day praying it wouldn't rain down us we seen some pretty dispicable behavior from adults that where starting to throw temper tantrums. The crowd started to get very rowdy as people where starting to pick fights with other people and I moved my soon to the inside where I could keep him out of harms way!!! No I have stood out all night to get tickets to a rock concert in the 80's and if memory serves me correct it was Metallica. It was rowdy then too, but not like it was today, to girls literaly B*slapping the crap out of each other as the other one persumed the girl was trying to cut inline! Nasty stuff, I won't go to another Grand Opening Event again!

I've never done that and never found a reason to do that. I have to ask myself though about the quality of that furniture if it's only selling for a dollar or two. With items like that, it's probably better to get good quality and pay more than to just buy it because it's cheap.

I can't stand lines. I'd rather travel 40 min. then to stand in line for 10. Its not that I'm impatient, just I find most lines boring...waiting for something that will be outdated, or broken, or not-needed...To me anyway. Would I do it for the kids? I'm not even sure I would anymore. Especially for electronics since they're outdated in a few months and you can't get support. I've never been one to keep up with the neighbors or the latest trends. The kids realize this and usually focus on other items and use the trends against us...lol We could have asked for this...
