Do you pop your pimples/zits? If you do, what does it feel like? Why do you pop your pimples?

I hate pimple popping. But sometimes a zit gets so itchy like the other guy was talking about that you rub it on your face. and, then it bursts accidentally, and of course it gets worse. So that doesn't help. Someone told me that tea tree oil helps mild cases of pimples. Not sure if it works on acne.

That really seems to be interesting, beautyqueen26. Have you ever used tea tree oil to treat your pimples? Did it help? Thanks a lot and happy myLotting! ;)

This was a habit that I now regret, believe me, I once had ance vulgaris, (really large zits). They were so itchy and they looked so bad so when I was younger I used to pop them every night. even if I sleep, I would lie on them and they would pop on their own. I looked like a person with leprosy, whoa, the best practice with pimples is hygene, I started to wash my face and avoided peanuts which used to be my favorite. After six months the zits were reduced to small bumps but the scars took 5 years to clear up a little, now if my skin is oily I quickly go to the wash room and clean it with soap. If you have bad zits washing your face 5 times a day is good practice to maintain you skin's health.

Leprosy?! That must have been really awful, bro. Anyway, it's really good that you've learned your lesson well. Thanks for your advice. It may truly be of great help to those who'll be reading this discussion, and are currently having such problem.

Pimles - I just hate them, they are the worst part of me.
I don't like popping pimples at all but one thing that I hate more then popping pimples is when they themselves burst, more so when you are not at your place. I have tried a lot of things but nothing solved this problem. I think that Indian "Ayurveda" can provide with a solution, but can't find it.

Yes yes yes yes, Even right now am popping some. It has become part of and I always have black sports due to the popping. I can't stand them even for a second. My fiance discourages this habit of mine but I do it while he is away. Sometimes I do it without noticing. Is there a cure?

In your case, even if it seems like a hard habit to break, I still suggest that you consult a dermatologist because he would be in the best position to prescribe the proper cure for your specific skin condition, and hopefully help you break your harmful habit. Happy myLotting! ;)

When i used to have them, I can't resist the urge to pop each one with a passion. Most of the time, I pop them prematurely that's why I end up with red inflamed spots that later on turn dark. I squeeze them till the last liquid left to squeeze is oil or water. Pretty gross and painful, huh? But I can't help it. The thing with popping is, pimples (ready and ripe for harvesting) heal easily after the pop, provided that you use clean hands in performing it. But the downside is, they turn dark from all the squeezing, especially if you have sensitive skin, which I have, unfortunately.

my dermatalogist told me not to pop my pimples. so i didn't do it to one of my pimples but still did to the others. the pimple i didn't pop eventually grew and was an embarrasing huge brown spot that jutted out from the top left side of my face for about 2-3 months, then it became strangely poppable so i popped it like usual. I love it may be the pain gives me pleasure.

yes, i pop my pimples/zits.... but only when they are sort of harden or something... it is kind of like a habit or a preference... i like things smooth.. so if there is anything popping out where it shouldn't be, i would make sure it will be flat as soon as possible.. but i have always managed to control myself to make sure my pimples are sort of harden before i pop it... this way it heals faster... it only feels pain... which i do regret at times... but i always feels better after i can feel that my skin or face or any other surface is smooth again.... =

Hi acmepride, You are not supposed to pop pimples. They'll give you pits and they will not go that easily either. If it is itching apply potato slices or honey there. It'll not itch. Please do not scrub or rub at the pimples.. It is really difficult to get a smoother skin later. This question seems to have been asked 11 months before. I think my answer is very late. Anyway, if you get pimples even now, please do not pop them. All the best

as i've researched the correct way as practised by skin specialists is to "puncture" the pimple with a clean needle or blade (instead of squeezing it), bleed out the pus and infected blood, which will promote the healing process, as the root cause of the inflammation, anti-histamine from the dying white blood cells, is now physically removed from the skin.

Pimple Explosion #1 - Created several years ago using a mouse and Microsoft Paint.
I'm 55 and don't get them on my face much anymore. In fact, even as a teen, I had a complexion where one or two might show up at one time, but I wouldn't have a face full of them at one time. But I love to pop pimples and squeeze blackheads! If somebody offers me a face or back to mess around with, I'll be there without a second invitation. They're fun!!! I even have written poems about the experience of squeezing blackheads and popping pimples!I mean, what ISN'T there to love!?! Stand in front of the mirror and squeeze a pimple, and it will make that comical popping sound--and, if I'm lucky, it will propel itself and hit the mirror! Blackheads are like cute, little worms. One time, this old man let me extract some blackheads from his back and they were incredibly-long! Had this one hung together, there would have probably been close to between two and three feet of matter in there. As it was, I think the longest connected piece was somewhere between six and twelve inches. I now get blackheads and occasional pimples on my tytz. Those are really fun to extract. Sometimes, I'll hum, "POP Goes The Weasel!" while working on them and giving them that squeeze at just the right time. Sometimes, they cooperate--sometimes, they don't. I used to have this fantasy as a teenager of growing some skin in a laboratory that would have a regular supply of blackheads and pimples to harvest--not that I had any idea how to go about this, but I just thought it would be nice to do!

Honestly, I've never really had this problem. Whether or not I have any visible zits, I go through my regular facial hygiene routine; use a cleaning wipe once or twice a day. Quite simple, I know, but it's been basically effective in preventing any major breakouts. I basically just keep my hands away from face (except when applying makeup of course), because the transfer of oils from your fingers to your face just makes matters worse.
