Another good one from Expert Village, is this video that will advise parents as to whether it's besy to keep their kids at home when they are ill... Oddly, when I stopped working in public environment, my incidences of colds and flu dropped dramatically and so did my allergic reactions to pollen and molds... I walk a lot, and won't use public transit, unless very necessary... I'm not in any way shape or form, a "Bug-a-Phobe" but I think that my immune system has naturally become stronger, as it's not under constant attack daily, by everything and anything... For you folks who might not have an idea as to whether your child simply is too sick to be in a public environment, this video will give you the knowledge you seek... http://www.expertvillage.com/videos/child-health-safety-parents-guide-too-sick-stay-home.htm

Thanks for the great tip. I ran a daycare for 20 years. You would be surprised how many people still brought their kids even though thet were very ill. Or didnt pick them up when I called to inform them of an illness. I rarely ever get sick I think working with all those kids really strengthened my immunity system.

Yes, it seems that the immune system does benefit from exposure to the environment as well...It's like a Yin/Yang sort of Balance, where exposure/non-exposure creates sharpens and strengthens "the blade" as it were... There's plenty of good stuff to be found at Expert Village, I hope you signed up for the free membership... they've got this great "Video of the day" feature that could really come in handy! :)
