Some countries of Europe - the eurovision song contest

Well, its over for another year (thank god!) and Serbia are the winners. I live in the UK and i only watch it for the commentary because he makes fun of everything. How serious do you take the eurovision song contest? How serious does your country take the contest? Do you think it has just become a political contest rather than a song contest? Or couldn't you care less? Share your views.

I think everyone in the UK only watches to listen to Terry wogan, its such a rubbish competition and i can't work out why we watch it year after year. Normally if someone asked if you would like to spend the evening watching very poor, cheesy pop music you would tell them to get lost. But those eastern european countries seem to like it so lets just leave them to it

Yeah, you cant beat a bit of terry wogan and his wonderful one line insults. If he stopped doing it i would stop watching it.

Hehe, we were even out before the finals. It's a shame that the Eastern European countries and northern European countries vote on each other so much, it is becoming so easy to predict how the endings will become these days.
