New Inhailers

I just went to pick up my perscriptions for my inhailer, I have bluecross bluesheild insurance or medco whatever they call it these days and usualy costs me 15.00 when I went to pay they said it was 25.00 or 33.00 deoending on which one i was going to chose. I was like well it usually only costs me 15.00 and then i was explained to why the price went up. The old inhailers that I usually get are discontinued for some reasont they are not safe for the enviroment, so the new ones are safe but aparently they cost more to make i dont know and the pricest one was the generic brand that my insurace dont even cover. Now i am all for saving the planet and all but i am not employed and my husbands income just pretty much covers us and because someone somewhere realized that the inhailer i need to live isnt good for the enviroment they are charging me more to fix the mistake. Has anyone else came across this problem? Oh and by the way i dont think they work as well as the old one I take 2 or 3 puffs now as compared to one from the old ones.

I've heard about this but hadn't run into it yet. I haven't had to get mine refilled. I only have to use it in emergencies but I know when I do need it that it won't be cheap. A friend of mine has several and all of hers jumped in price. She wasn't happy either. Her co-pay basically doubled. That's not right. I'm all for helping the enviroment but they shouldn't be gouging the patients either and that is gouging them in my opinion.

It is bad since i have made this discussion i have gotten lucky and was able to find a couple of pharmacys that still had some of the older ones. They to me work better then the new enviromentaly sound ones. I hope that it still works as good when i am in a bad asthma attack. I too would like to do all i can to help the enviroment but what happens when nothing is good for the enviroment and people have to suffer their illness before getting help.i hope that day never come.Need to make more cures first i think so when it comes there will be help.

I have to wonder how much they were really hurting the enviroment. Considering everything else going on in the world, the pollution and what not, how much could those inhalers be doing?
