Yes, i have stopped cooking. Its because of nothing but.......... I am doing engineering now. We have take a room for rent to stay. There we live 9 students. Every one is from different districts. No one know to prepare food, Still we prepare food. So times we prepare food and throw it out because of its taste and quality. Rice is cooked easly. For preparing curry, we first slice onion and heated it untill red colour appears(That idea is from another friend). Then we cut tomato and mixed with red coloured onion and heated again. Then we add some salt, chilly powder etc to it. Then pour water according to the number of head to share it. Some times it tastes too salty at that time we add some water again. If salt is low, we add some salt. This also apply in the case of Chilly powder and others...... For break fast we prepare a food whaose name in malayalam language is UPPU MAV. As by comedy it named in english as SALT MANGO TREE... Its the food that can prepare even for a police man too.... Some how we finish all and we go to restaurant to overcome the hungry...... Atlast we decided to buy bread and jam and satisfied with it... Else what we doooo. Any one can help us by giving the ideas for preparing food in simplest way.....

Hi firumon, cooking is fun sometimes I agree. First of I wish you good luck with your engineering studies, that's something. Are you studying Information Technology? It must be fun with the other 8 friends with whom you share the food. Okay, some simple and fast food that you can make: You can make salads of all kinds: cut tomatoes, onions, lettuce. You can add fried and peeled pepper. The dressing: olive oil, salt, black pepper, lemon juice or vinegar. You can make hamburgers: hamburger paddies, slices of onion, cheese, tomatoes, mayonnaise and ketchup. You can make a rice salad: rice, green olives, green pepper diced, corn, cheddar cheese cut into pieces, diced tomatoes, tuna can. The dressing is just the same. Take care and good luck firumon!

Hai, my dear friend. I am studying Applied electronics and instrumentation course. Some of my friends doing mechanical engineering and some others chemical engineering. You have given me some more types of food that we can prepare. We will start preparing one by one on each day. Any way thank you very much for posting a big respond to my discussion.

You cant study on an empty stomach. Its not good to loose your health because you dont live at home anymore, happens to a lot of students. What cooking facilities do you all have. A oven and hob or just a hob.

Thank you very much for your advice. We have also stopped self cooking because of the same advice that you made is get from our parents. We are using an microwave oven. Its very simple to use. That have helped us too much in our cooking. Now on days we are using it only to boil water and cook rice. Any way once again saying thank you very much for responding my discussion. Please continue responding..... Bye..

I also love to cook. My mother also taught me how when I was still a little girl. But as I grow old, I try to buy some recipe magazines or look at our old recipe books, and tried cooking and experimenting by myself. Yes cooking is fun and it really makes me feel good and proud of myself just to see someone's eating the food I cooked and see they liked it.
