I always like to smile at people and have never thought about what happens when a person smiles at another. With me it is a automatic thing that I do. I got this is my email and wanted to share it with you. "Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing." -- Mother Teresa ******************************************************************** Researchers have discovered that smiling increases our feelings of happiness and well-being whether we are the benefactor or the recipient, and even whether the smile is genuine or fake. Highly contagious, smiling serves to build a bridge between us and those around us and is the accepted and universal language of love and kindness and peace. So it appears that when you smile, your world really does smile with you. As Mother Teresa said, it truly is "a beautiful thing." May smiles, those both given and received, be always present in your life. So here is a smile going out to all those in mylot.

Hi Gabs, I know that sometimes it is hard to smile. Sometimes the problems that are thrown at you are mind boggling. But even though this is true I always try to look at the fact that there are other people that are worse off. Sometimes my husband would say that we could use a little more money. My response to him is look at all the people that don't have a income to depend on. I mention to him to count his blessings. He has a retirement check coming in. It's not a big one but it is enough to take care of our household bills. I have said that enough to him that now he doesn't make that comment anymore. Be satisfied with what you have. So even if I am down I do smile at people and as I do that not only does it benefit them it also benefits me because I start to feel better myself.

When I am at the mall I play a smiling game. I smile at people that I walk past and they will usually smile back. :)

That is a good game to play. You bring pleasure to the person and it makes you feel good when they smile back. At least it does me. I am a firm believer that in most people that there is good in everyone. In the busy times of peoples lifes sometimes they have so much on their mind that the thought of smiling simply doesn't cross their mind. When a person smiles at them they give of their time. Just a smile back and that can light up a persons life. Such a small thing that can have big results.

I will post some more and thank you for your compliment. I do believe that a smile is a powerful tool that we as people don't take enough use of. A smile is being jeted accross the internet waves to you.

I have always been one to smile at others, I don't even notice it. I've been stopped before by strangers and been told I have a beautiful smile, not b/c my teeth are pretty, they are not. But they say it lights up my entire face. I love to make others smile and feel loved. It just makes me feel good to smile a lot, even if I am sad.

Mother Teresa....a very wise woman! A smile can make so many things happen, without a word being spoken. I try to smile to everyone because it softens the situation and makes it easier to interact with people in new situations if they feel that you are open to them.

I agree with you. A smile lightens up another persons ability to be friendly with you. You don't look so forboding. It also is good medicine because it can make a person feel good when they have been feeling bad or down. It is a wonderful gift that God has given us to be able to smile. And I know in my heart that God meant it to be shared. I smile at all friend or stranger because who knows what that smile can do for that person. I agree Mother Teresa was a very wise women. Thanks for responding.

I agree, smiling is contagious. I smile a lot, it's just part of my nature to do so. I drink the functional beverage, Himalayan Goji Juice daily and the side effect of drinking it, is smiling too much. Let's keep on smiling and posting my friend.
