Why do we need a occasion to stop to take the time shouldn't it be all the time?

To me, everyday is a special day. We need not wait for that particular date just to celebrate Mother's Day for example. If you love and cherish that special someone, it could be Valentine's or any special occasion anytime. Furthermore, for example, Mother's Day has becme too commercialised. Shops tend to hike up the prices during these special moments because they know there's a demand for it.. Thus, for me, I whenever I am free, I would just bring my Mum out for lunch, tea or even dinner or shopping. It is the time spent with her that makes things special....

My boyfriend and I were talkingabout that the other day. We tend to avoid holidays and special days like the plague!! We'd rather surprise our loved ones.
OK we celebrate birthdays, but that's because that's based on individuals, not on marketing.
