ive been thinking, to cut down on hackers, scammers, and macro users alike, should jagex start using ip bans?

actually, jagex already do use ip bans for certain things. they have admitted to using wide range ip banning over the new announcement they made about the macroers they banned recently (they believe them to be supplying the real world gp trade). it would be difficult to use ip bans on every day offenses, as this might muck up alot of innocent peoples accounts. both me and my son play runescape, and my sisters play on my pc sometimes too when they are here, if one of us got banned and were ip banned, then it would ruin it for the others.

If Jagex uses IP bans, Runescape will become almost population 0! My self, i have benn banned 1 time. Just because of a silly thing... That would mean i couldn't play runescape anymore? That is why IP bans cannot be done.

No and it will never happen because Jagex knows that in some households multiple people play on the same computer on different accounts.

NO, i have been ip banned and i hd to reset my efffin modem us cheaters are JUST like you except we see jagex as an obstacle, thats the only reason we do it, we get a kick but jagex are un humourous jerks

IP bans dont really work as there are quite a few ways around them like resetting your modem (if possible) or simply using a proxy. The only ppl IP banning will stop is those ppl who don't know what they are doing.

jagex already does do ip bans and this means they ban you from ever creating ana ccount on their website again which really stinks.Thats why you should never cheat because you will get caught and you will get punished accordingly.

They have only IP banned one person, who exploited Classic and creasted millions of party-hats which damaged the price of them. Although he had many on his account, they are now lost. It was impossible to remove them because it was impossible to tell which wheres were legitiment. They IP banned one person, if your stupid engouth to use a IP address when you auto, then your plain stupid, most autoers then use proxys so it would be banning other people not them. Unfair?
