Suicide - MyLot helps lower suicide rates

Would you agree with such a strong statement? I do because i feel blogs and websites such as this one help give people an outlet for their feelings. Often times, when we are depressed we cannot talk to people close to us in fear that they may think less of us. But these sites provide a forum of anonymity which stimulates people to share their problems and seek resolution. It helps them feel better and overcome the feeling of suicide/being down & out in life. What do you think? Do you agree with me?

Hello, bindishah,I think it is partly correct even it may be a bit exagerrated, but i have to say mylot is a very good site for the members to share their unhappiness, after they write something, and they will received replies from their friends and they will know someone really concerned them even they are being neglected by their friends in real life, through sharing of feeling, they may be much more comfortable than before, sometimes, the problem may even have resolved by other members. That is why mylot is the best as we can have human interaction here which we cannot find something like that in other site. Enjoy your day.

Agree. To write in forum is a way of personal therapy. It`s almost a diary, but you see the reactions of the people arround. And most of them are friendly and supportive even they dont know you. This helps.

I do agree with 100%! It is an outlet of emotions, negative and positive without feeling embarrassed and it is also a great source of putting things into perspective, stress relief and mood enhancer... I have felt this in the short time that I have been a member of Mylot and I find that this is great... It is a way to assist people as well and show them that there is so much in life to enjoy...
