How technologically-dependent are you?

I know I'm really guilty of this. The power went out a few days, and I remember being completely and utterly bored. I found that I didn't have much in the way of activities that didn't require some sort of electrical power or internet access. I suppose it's funny asking this question on an internet discussion site, but what do you do when all your gadgets and gizmos lose power?

Bah, I'm love virtual life. I love role playing, and I think I have more "virtual" than "real" friends. I'm quite a dependent, yeah. Sure it's important not to cross the line. But then, how many of us are capable of controlling that?

I think we'll see more and more of it as newer and faster technologies are developed. Granted, I think power systems and the like are more reliable now. I remember a lot less random power outages these days than when I was a kid, at least in my neighborhood. Of course, these days, a lot of things can run off battery power, at least for a while. Getting cut off from your electricity is becoming less and less of a problem, I suppose.

Yep, but getting cut off of your real "free" life is becoming more of a problem. ;)

I'm very technologically dependent because I use a power wheelchair to get around. I can move my manual chair myself but it's very slow and takes a lot of time because I tire quickly. I also make most of my pocket money from the net, so not being able to post could effect my income. I also really need to use my cell phone to call my workers at night in case I need the bathroom or help moving in bed. I tend to use my cordless phone rather than my wall plug phone (although I have both) because that's easier for me. Whoo.. I didn't realize it was this serious!

Man I hate when this happens. Normally I try to clean my house (if I can see). It is crazy how we depend on power so much. You can't watch t.v, you can't talk on the cordless phone, you can't get on the intranet, etc etc. I can certainly understand why you were bored. My main things that I like to do in life is what direct t.v., and intranet. I know I don't have much of a life but that is what it is and when I can't do those I get bored also. I always have housework to do, but sometimes I just don't feel like doing it.
