Well I don't know about this but I do know the later you wean your child onto ordinary food baby rice first. The later you do this the better chance they have of not getting childhood obesity.

There are a great many factors affecting obesity in children as well as in adults. There is the comfort factor...comfort foods...they can help you feel safe or better about a situation. Food as a reward...this is by far one of the most diasterous means of rewarding a child...performance means food, this carries over into adulthood, when the now adult child can reward him/herself in any fashion for any performance. Recent studies have indicated that there are chemical reasons for obesity...Liptors in the brain tell one when they are 'full'...too few liptors the signal doesn't get through, the person feels hungry almost all the time. Too many liptors the person won't consume enough food to maintain body weight. A couch potato family will produce couch potato children...kids are meant to be active, biking, running, playing. Television, computer, game sets...all take away from not only the physical activity, but also deprive children of using their imaginations. There is no one single factor in a child's weight...or anyone else's either.

Do you have any links or articles that back this statement? I find this hard to believe. Why would a father's parenting style be any different on the weight of a child than the mother's parenting? This makes no sense to me. I know heredity can have a huge factor in obesity and weight issues, under weight as well as over weight. Please if you have anything to back this statement, I for one would really be interested. I have a little neice who is battling childhood obesity and this would be beneficial to her.
