Laptops.....dont you think these are the increasing necessities in our daily life. I really wish to own one with my own earnings. Right now I am having one at home but its being given to my hubby from his office. I have my own desktop, but I really dream to get one laptop by my own for myself. Do u have ur own laptop? Who got that for u, someone else or you urself? Also, Which brand do u own?

yes i have,i just bought a brand new 'Acer' laptop.which is aspire 5050 series.i recommend acer if you are a budget conscious buyer because acer come with all features like wi-fi,dual layer dvd writer, duo core processor with 64 bit,and many more feature comparatively cheaper than any other brand. my acer config is AMD turion 1.6GHz Duo core 64,1GB DDR2 RAM,ATI 1100 Gfx with PS2.0,Dual layer DVD writer,120GB HDD,wi-fi,card reader, bth, integrated WEB CAM. and the price difference compared to other brand is about 8-10000 INR!ie it cost 42000 INR. although battery backup is only 2 hr because of AMD processor.and also it weighs 2KG if you looking for performance gofor sony vaio!sony vaio is best performance laptop among all lap!

Lap Dog - image of a St. Bernard sitting in presumably owner's lap.
I don't have my own laptop because I cannot afford one. I keep hoping that one of these days I'm gonna win something in the euromillions lottery....not necessarily the jackpot...just enough to pay off my bills, buy me a car,,,,and of course a laptop. Oh well, I can dream can't I? Right now this is the closest I'll every get to a lap anything.....(see image)

I have an Acer laptop at home and a Gateway notebook at work. My husband has a Dell laptop at work. I don't think it is a necessity but certainly helpful when you need a computer on the go for meetings and travel. They are becoming increasingly more affordable too. I got my Acer at TigerDirect.com for around $550. Good luck in acquiring your very own!

I have never owned a lap top and am not too sure I would want to. I can see the appeal of not being restricted to your desk, and also being able to take the computer with you on trips....but, I do not find them comfortable to use. Maybe it is just a matter of getting used to it but I have a difficult time with the keyboard and especially with the tactile mouse.

I have a desktop which I work on most of the time, but we do have a laptop computer which I also use for work. I was against getting it initially, but now that we have it I'm so glad we did get it, even though we are still paying it off. It's been a real life saver and we were able to even take it on vacation with us. We bought an Acer which is a very good brand and we got a really good deal on it.

My wife and I each have an Apple MacBook, it's for when I travel I can take it with and if she goes visits her parents she can use hers there and we can still keep in touch. Since we've got them we seldom use our desktop computer, the desktop is good for the kids to use though and at least they don't have to wait for us to get off the computer to play on it.

This is my 3rd laptop and I love them, I would never go back to a desktop again. The past two laptops I have owned (and yes, I paid for them) was a Dell Computer, they offer the best in warranties and help support when you have problems, that is why I keep going back to them. Some people complain that they are not as good as a Gateway but I would put up Dell's warranty and service up to anyone else's and they will always come out the best.

I have an Acer laptop that I use mainly when I go away from home for a few days, I really only got it so I could check my emails then, as get a lot of mail. I'm now glad I got it because I've had a few problems with the desk top, so I've used that until I've fixed this one.

No I do not have my own laptop. I will not go out and buy one either because I have to use the computer for at last 8 hours everyday at work. So when I get home I want to disconnect from technology and play with my son and do other things aside from sit in front of a screen. I know that having a laptop is very handy for business people, people who travel a lot, and students but it just isn't for me.

I prefer my PC, but my daughter has a lap top. It was my husband's which he bought for himself, but his work gave him one to use so he gave that one to her. The laptop cost us around $1000, but that was a couple of years ago. I don't like the touch mouse pad and the small keyboard on the laptop.

Yea, I have one. I bought one three years ago, it cost 1000 USD, and I had to make payments on it. They had a promotion where you got 2 years free interest, but I made payments and payments and it was paid off in the two years. It was very good and I like it because I can take it with me if I want to go to someone's house or something, you know? The brand is Toshiba, it is 1.1 GHz, there are better computers now, but I still like it :). Pablo

Yes, I own a Hewlett Packard Laptop, and I LOVE it!! I also have a desktop Mac G4, which I will never sell! They are both important to my graphics artwork. I bought my laptop on credit, then deducted its cost from my taxes as a business expense (I need a PC because I sell on EBay and it doesn't work well with Macs), and then I payed the laptop off with my income tax return. It's so much fun to take my laptop with me on trips and vacations so I can show off my latest artwork or photos! I also find it invaluable on vacations where I take a lot of digital photos. When the camera memory is full, I just download all the pictures into my computer and am ready to start shooting again!
