submerged cell phone...

Help, I dropped my cell phone in the creek the other day. I had heard if you put it in a bag of rice, it'll suck the moisture out of it. I tried it, and it did, but now the screen goes blank on me all the time. I can still call and talk to people, but as for texting or seeing who's calling, I'm completely at a loss. Does anyone know of any other ways to fix my phone, without taking it in or buying a new one? I reached in lightning fast and got it out, quick enough to pull the back off and make sure the dot stayed white. Please help me out, and I don't want to hear don't drop it in the water. I already know that, and accidents happen. Thanks, Shannon

the lcd got filled with moisture, or so that would seem like what happened. if the lcd is ok, then it would probably be in the connection, maybe it got surged when the electricals got dunked in water, and you turned it on again. in any case, if you don't know how to fix of inspect your phone by yourself, i would suggest taking it in. i wouldnt recommend opening it either, unless you have experience in opening phones, or the warranty has run out anyway. opening the phone voids any warranty present. like i said, consider stopping by the dealer for a repair. sorry to hear what happened to your phone.

Thanks for the suggestion... Luckily, I had put it in the rice again and left it in there for another day or two. This time, my phone works perfectly, charges fine, and hasn't had any flaw since taking it out this last time.
