do they work? Hollywood 48 hour miracle diet, drink this juice mixing it with water and you can lose up to 10 pounds in 48 hours. What do you think? Have you tried it? I would like to try it but I am not sure if I can go 2 days without food! Does this make you not want to eat where you are just not hungry? It probably just cleanses your body out so much (you will probably spend a lot of time in the bathroom, lol) opinions on this please........ thank you

Diets are surely a BIG NO for me lol, i hate going without food for a long time, maybe the 48 hr miracle diet does work & what usually happens with such things is that it cleans your stomach of all the waste things (you may need to use the bathroom for a long time!) & then going without food is like your are stopping the essential nutrients from reaching your body (which is very important). Rather than going without food for 2 days its always better to have a balanced diet (this diet means eating food in right proportions). If you want to loose weight consult a dietician & tell them your daily food habits & see they can in turn tell you if you can bring in any changes in your diet so that you don't put on weight & yeah loose weight as well while eating too lol. So try this rather that going without food & yeah working out too is a better option ;)

You're right. I read it in a book an this method is called detox. It is just to waste toxin in your body. Based on the book that I read, it has to be done for 3 days. Without any food. Just fruit and vegetables juice every 2 hours. But there's no statement that it can help you lose your weight.

I agree, you would probably spend that 48 hours in the bathroom ;) Diet thats promise things like 10pounds in 48 hours are ridiculous and unsafe. The best thing to do is eat properly, exercise regularly and have everything in moderation.

Being without food actually helps you retain fat. It slows your metabolism down, and while you may lose water weight (which you will) you are only training your body to retain the fat because it thinks you are starving. I tried diets in the past, but I learned that changing your life style of eating is what really does the trick. I stopped eating mega huge large portions (which I did in the past waaaay to much), stopped eating large amounts of junk food, gave up soda everyday and starting working out a little bit during the week. Just doing this I've lost forty pounds. It didn't happen over night, but it did happen in less then a year. I'm going to hit my year mark in October and I'm still losing. Diets aren't great because you aren't going to eat that way forever. Once the diet is over it's super easy to fall back into bad habits. What I like about my "diet" is I still get to eat the things I love. I still eat hamburgers, still have some ice cream now and then on a hot summer day and will have a drink with my pals. If I do over do it, which happens, I just work out a little harder that week. If you are trying to lose the weight fast for lets say a wedding coming up in a few days and you need to fit in that dress then the Hollywood diet may be a good emergency route. Other then that I say trash that diet. :D Good luck!!

I agree with that, I have tried it before a while back, starving myself but I lost absolutley no weight! The body will retain fat if it thinks you are starving. Thank you for your response.

This is not good for you in the long run. You may lose the weight, but you are starving yourself. When you starve yourself, then eat-your body will store even more fat! Here's some interesting info ;) http://healthpsych.psy.vanderbilt.edu/hollywood48.htm The Hollywood 48-Hour Miracle Diet is not a miracle diet, but a method a semi-starvation or a VLCD. The makers of this product claim you can lose 10 pounds in two days and detoxify your body by simply drinking their formula. It sounds so easy and so great, but it won’t cause sustained weight loss. Researchers have reported that you can only lose 1 to 2 pounds a week on a diet. By restricting oneself to the Hollywood diet, you can only take in 400 calories each day, followed by a month of exercise and eating better. Once off the diet you are not suppose to binge, but after starving yourself for two days, it would be difficult to not eat more than you are suppose to. The Hollywood Diet says after completing the diet you should do the following things: eat fruits and vegetables and cut down on meats, sugars, oils, flour, dairy, and fatty foods, to exercise 30 minutes a day five days a week, and not to eat after 6:00 p.m. If you did these three things, you could lose weight without the Hollywood Miracle Diet. There are also health risks associated with very low calorie diets that are sustained over weeks or months that could be seen if the diet is used improperly. While on and off the diet, it is also recommended that you take metabolism booster capsules. Everywhere we look our culture is telling us that thin is beautiful, and many people want the perfect figure without eating right or exercising. The Hollywood 48-Hour Miracle Diet claims to be able to take off 10 lbs. quickly. It sells because people want a quick and easy way to have the perfect figure, and they are willing to pay for the “miracle” diet that will get them there. The best way to lose weight and keep it off is to eat better and exercise rather than trying dieting substances that promise rapid weight loss.

this is very true and informative. I agree, you could lose weight only by eating right and not having to take the drink. thank you for your response.

I wouldnt trust a diet that promises to help you lose 10 pounds in 2 days. It might work, but it is NOT healthy at all! And not eating any food for 2 days is very bad for your health. Just stick to eating right (fruits/veggies/light meals) and you can lose weight. You also need to find what exercise you enjoy. Whether it be walking, biking; for me it's swimming! :) And also dancing! Dancing is a VERY good way to lose weight, very good exercise. So put on some fast tunes and pump up the volume! :)

I'm sorry I forgot to mention that drinking a lot of water through out the day can be a big help to. It helps clena out your insides. A lot of food and stuff gets trapped inside you, and that is what causes some of the extra weight. Water helps remove that icky stuff!

Those fad diets really don't work. All these do is remove water from your system and take some toxins with it. After a short time you will quickly replace all that water (which you need) and gain the weight back. The best way to lose weight is to eat 4-6 small healthy meals a day. Even if you're not eating healthy, eating smaller portions more often will cause your body to burn the food that is coming in as fuel, and then work on your fat reserves. When most people think of eating, they think 3 meals a day. The problem with this is that after about 3-4 hours of not eating, your body goes into "starvation" mode. Unsure of when it will eat again, it begins to store food that you eat as fat, and will even begin to eat your muscles for energy and store them as fat also...for a rainy day. Diet alone usually isn't enough. It's very important to exercise about 3 times a week, vigorously for at least 20-30 minutes. Taking an "every other day" attitude is usually best and most people will get the best results from combining a cardio-aerobic warm up (exercise bike, treadmill, eliptical) followed by some form of weight training to tone muscles. Muscle burns more calories then fat when in a resting state, so the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn even while doing nothing. One of the biggest mistakes that people make are trying to "spot reduce" problem areas like the stomach, thighs, butt, or underarms. You can't target a certain spot and just burn fat from a specific place. What usually happens is a person will build muscle in that spot and even appear larger there. Fat content is a body-wide thing. The other pitfall is when people obsess about weight. Thinking you should weigh "x amount" is a bad idea. A more realistic goal to shoot for is a specific clothing size, because again muscle weighs more than fat. Most people who start losing fat and replace it muscle tend to gain weight, but lose inches and look and feel better.

Yes, I have tried it. For me, it's a good way to jump start a diet. I spread the drink out throughout the day so I'm always sipping it (mixed with water) and it really helps me not to be hungry. If I'm really hungry, I'll eat fruit. For me, I can usually drop about 4 pounds in those two days and it helps me get ready to go on a real diet.

If I want to lose weight I'd like to have a try. But it must be hard time for me without food in 2 days.I'm such guy who feels depressed and bad-tempered if I'm hungry, heehee. And I can't fall to sleep with the empty stomach.#_# And I think after two days' diets, your stomach is so empty that your weight is definitely up once you turn back to your normal diet.

Yes, you will probably lose 5 to 10 pounds doing this type of diet but more often than not you will gain those pounds back shortly after stopping. That is the bad part with fad diets, they are not for long term weight loss, they can be used to lose those couple of pounds you need to to be able to fit into a dress or something for an important invent but even then I wouldn't recommend it.

Things like this never work and if you lose any weight in this amount of time you are likely to gain twice as much after taking it. The only way to lose weight properly and keep it off is with exercise and proper diet.

Yes. They work! I lost 6lbs in one day by fasting and drinking the 48 hour Miracle Diet. It's hard work and I gave up after a day but I did lose the weight. The only problem is that you are losing water weight and NOT actual fat so it's easy to gain back. You should use it as a "jump start" to an actual diet and not by itself. Good luck!

Two days without food isnt hard. You do get hungry though i can guarantee it. But the quicker you lose weight the easier it is to put back on. The best way is exercise and healthy eating. Im a yo-yo dieter so i have tried it all and everytime ive completed a program ive put on more weight then i started with. Give it a go, you will be surprised at the results
