I use British English in my writing. My PC has default language set to US English, accordingly certain words suffer spelling error. How do I set the language to British English permanently?

please tell me which os you are using. if you are using linux then there's a option to change your language , but for windows i think there's no way out except the above said method of dictionary attaching.

if you have windows xp then we can't do anything to change the default language. Microsoft is an American company and they use only American English. you can try to use "open office".... i have used this version of office in linux. there you can use UK english.but theres no way out in msoffice. here i am giving you the download link for open office: http://download.openoffice.org/1.1.5/index.html check carefully : in this page there's an option to select your preferable language.

What operating system do you have? Some programs may require you to set it separately, and depending on your operating system you might not be able to change it.
