I Paid $8 For My Son’s New Eyeglasses! Thank Goodness, I Found This Site!

I have two sons who are very hard on their glasses. Our insurance only covers one pair every two years. We did manage to get them to cover one replacement pair for them over the past year, but they still are not due for another pair yet, and both of them have broken their glasses beyond repair.
Now I have two teenage sons who can barely see, both going to school and struggling to do their work while barely being able even to read it, and no help in getting new glasses for them. If I bought a new pair of frames for their glasses from the optometrist, it would have cost at least $65 each for the cheapest ones. They would have to wait at least a week for them to be ordered and delivered to their office, where I could drive the 70 mile round trip to pick them up.
Thank goodness, I had heard about Zenni Optical. I had heard before about this site where you could get glasses for 19 dollars, and since my boys need their glasses as soon as possible, I went to see visit the site and see what they had available. When I got to the site, I found a link for $8 glasses. I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered both boys a pair of glasses, and paid only $20.95 including shipping for both pairs!
You can also get more options there, like bifocals, sturdier frames, anti-glare, and more for an added cost, but their prices are great.

I think that it is great that I can get an entire pair of glasses for eight dollars. I could buy eight pairs of these for less than the cost of a pair of frames from the optometrist!

Thank you thank you thank you - I need new glasses horribly and don't have insurance at all. Am saving this link for future use..
True story - my frames broke a couple years ago and there just never seems to be money to spend on myself. I went to the dollar store with one of my lenses in hand and found a pair of sunglasses for $2 that my lenses were fairly close to the same size - little super glue and that's what I'm wearing now. I only wear my glasses when I drive and 40 some years of wearing glasses my prescription has never changed.

I had the same prescription for over 30 years before having to change mine, and I have shopped dollar stores with my lenses, or my son's lenses in hand more times than I could tell you. It got to the point where they new me and just shook their heads when they saw me coming. They new what I was doing when they saw the lens come out of my pocket. LOL.

I've been checking in on them and glad to see that we are making progress. Make sure you check in and keep an eye on the new ones that are added to the page though. I have a lot more to add, and working on getting them added.

Wow this is AWESOME!
I just checked it out and there is no mention of international shipping. Guess this is another of the 9999999999999999^99999999999999999 sites that only ship to USA? Or charge a hefty fee otherwise?
And they sure ask for lotsa info that I have no idea of. I thought just telling them how many degrees would be enough.
Have you compared the quality, etc to "real" specs you get from brick and mortar shops? It sounds too incredible an offer (I know you got the specs already but but but :P).

Sorry, but it looks like you may be right, I see no mention of international shipping either...
I haven't gotten the glasses yet. The website said to allow two weeks for delivery, so they should be here sometime within the next week or so. I am anxious to see what kind of quality they are.

Wow, great site! I found my exact frames on the page, and now I know where I can go to get new frames if I need them! For $8 you can't go wrong. And the add-ons/treatments are so cheap! Did you know that my local eye store asked $65 for anti-glare, $40 for anti-scratch, and $100 for UV coating? I was appalled!!!!

Wowser. This is great. I have to get a new pair of glasses. Without having insurance to cover them it is hard to find an economical pair.

This is great! My children wear glasses and we are always having to pay extra if they break the frame. Besides my son wants to have sunglasses that don't look stupid but I can't afford them. Well now I can! Since we go for an eye appointment in 2 weeks I will make sure to get the measurements and order them from here for him.
