When a Person does NOT Dream

Is this normal? Or do you think most people do dream but perhaps forget their dreams when they wake up? My boyfriend told me that he very rarely dreams about anything....I thought it was kind of unusual for a person not to dream. But my best friend told me that when she was living with her boyfriend she hardly ever had dreams, but now since living at home she dreams every night. I myself dream every single night, I have many dreams and I remember all of them. What do you think it means when a person does not dream? When a person dreams all the time? Do you think it has anything to do with happiness? stress? How often do you dream?

I think we all dream but often we don't remember them.I do remember some of them and don't take them from granted because dreams you remember often has a message to tell you.Dreams are mad of what you've been through not only bad things bt also good things or what you have done that day.

Dreaming is part of the brain's natural activity. Everyone does it unless they have some sort of physical or mental problem that prevents it. So, it is unusual, but not impossible. There are health conditions that make not dreaming happen. Chances are, though, he just doesn't remember his dreams or does not realize that he had dreamed. That's not too unusual.

Its normal girl!! Even I stopped seeing dreams since one year!! And all normal. It can be because of anything.happines, satisfaction anything!! But earlier even I was in shock to see that I don't actually get any dreams!! But mostly people tend to forget about their dreams so they say they don't dream!! Thats it. Have nice day.

I very rarely have/remember my dreams. I use to have a ton of nightmares when I was little so maybe I choose not to remember then subconsiously. I don't know the reasoning as to why. If I do remember they are always scary and I wake-up terrified =) But that only happens a few times a year.

Of course, everyone dreams everyday. But they almost forget what they have in dreams. If you want to know more about dream, maybe you could read Sigmund Freud's works.

dream is a normal cycle like the first person who replied pointed out during REM but after that we fall into a deeper slumber and thats when you usually forget what it was that you were dreaming. the reason some people recall alot of their dreams so vividly is because they arent making it to the deeper sleep cycle and getting the real rest that they need. I have this problem sometimes.

My husband and I are the same as you and your bf. I dream all the time, and he rarely has dreams. I think a part of it might be stress, and a part of it might actually be creativity. Is your bf very creative? Anyway Im no dream doc or anything lol but I thought it was funny you posted this.

I think they are dreaming and just not remembering it. Certain medications can also affect your dreams.

This is curious, because isnt the REM cycle when you dream and if you dont have a REM cycle you dont get the rest you need? I for one dream alot, not all the time becasue there are times i dont get restful night sleep. But i can remeber dreaming most of the time but not knowing what they were about. The dreams that i ever remember are ones that i feel are disturbing to be. Or ones that make no sense whatsoever

Yes,I dream almost every single night.Several hours ago,I waked up from a horrific dream which deeply shocked me ,while I can hardly remember anything at the moment even that I have racked my brain. There are lots of factors may account for a dream ,such as one person's mood?his physical status?his sleeping environment and so on.

I do not get it! My boyfriend says the same exact thing. In fact, we had a conversation about this about two nights ago. I just think that he forgets his dreams because as someone else has said in this post, dreaming is a natural process. I love dreaming and I remember each of my dreams vividly and he just describes sleeping as a "passing out". He just blacks out and wakes up the next morning.

Do you read Jungian psychology? Sometimes the dreams are ways to react to the daily stress. And sometimes the subconsious mind was locked or the memories, feelings and other factors were supressed. So then the chanels of dreaming are closed too.

Every human dreams. We just don't recall all our dreams. I got into dream interpitation years ago. What I did was I'd have a pad of paper and pen on the table next to the bed. When I woke up at any time I'd write down whatever was on my mind at that time be it a dream I just had or thoughts. Doing this would cause me to remember the dream and continue it after lying back down. It was a great experience. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Keep a dream journal. Before bed say several times "I will recall my dreams" and the MOMENT you awake before you even get up if possible, write down dreams. Also do this in the middle of the night. Everyone dreams. Even shorter periods of sleep you do dream. You just dont recall it. Thats all.

Everyone dreams. Your mind is still running when you're sleeping, therefore you dream. You just don't always remember what you dream about. I hear it has to do a lot with how heavy you sleep. If you sleep heavier than someone else, than you're most likely going to have more dreams and they're most likely going to be weird ones. I'm sure stress is linked to it as well.

Hello babygurl, I think every man will say that they never dream. My husband is one of them. I think they do dream but forgotten about it when they wake up. Women on the otherhand, is more sensitive about dreaming and they tend to remember their dream very clearly. Yes, I think dreams can have to do with happiness or stress. Some people get nightmare when they watch too much of horror movie. I believe everyone of us do dreams. I seldom dream.

It is a fact that everyone dreams every single night. Some people remember more of there dreams than other people, but everyone has multiple dreams at night. I probably remember about 3-4 dreams a week. I personally think that most dreams have hidden messages and meanings. I keep a dream dictionary by my side so that when I can wake up - I can read the meanings of my dreams.
