How Does One Alert You When Visiting?

When someone comes over to visit your house, do they ring a door bell, speak through an intercom, use a knocker, rap with their fist, throw a rock at a window, or yell their head off? It make seem like I am trying to be funny, but I am sure you will agree that most of us have had to do all of these at one time or another. Actually for me, a small wrap on the door does just fine. But some of my close friends rap very lightly on my window and that is the code to let me know that it is someone special.

Knock on the door. I just hate it when they do it and loud or a bunch of times. It takes me awhile to get to the door to answer it.

I can understand where you are coming from. If I were you, I would put a nice sign on the door that says, Knock twice and be patient. If I am not there in such and such time, I am not home.

Usually people use a doorbell, but there are some who just shouts from the gate fo my home and I go to check who the person is. It is the sales people, who somtimes shout instead of using the doorbell. But there are some school boys who press the doorbell and run away just for fun! It's strange! Have you ever experienced this?

Now, I would not call that strange, that is down right annoying. But, boys will be boys and they like doing silly things like that.

Well, they either knock on the door or call first. My older sister use to say, you should call first before going over anyone's house, I suppose that make since because the could be buzy or have company, or just don't want to be bother.

we used to have a pretty thin front door, and a light knock was easy to hear. but last year we FINALLY got a new door, much more secure and it came with a security screen door. now unless someone practicaly pounds on the door, we cant hear anything. ive been wanting to get a doorbell and have hinted at needing a doorbell, but so far someONE hasnt gotten the "hint" and gotten me a doorbell yet! lol guess im gonna have to do it myself...

The someone must be your husband. Believe me I can imagine. Perhaps if you drop him a picture, a neon sign on the garage, maybe. Just kidding, LOL. You know what they say, if you want anything done right you have got to do it yourself. And think about it like this, with you doing it, you will get exactly what you want and what could possibly go wrong. LOL.

With me it is usually like you an knock at the door but that is only for the most part there are others in my world that are different but it depends on who they are really. The neighbors son is her all the time with my son and he used to know all the time i would stop what i was doing and go and answer the door and he comes over several times a day so i just told him he is like one of my own and to say me the work and himself just come in and out like the rest of the kids.lol why not right he practically lives here anyways. My parent knock but let themselves in right after the fact. My brother does the knock on the window thing but he jus likes to scare the heck out of me for laughs eh. Then my sweety has the best method that warms my heart i know he is on his way to my place when he calls me on his cell i know this cause he never calls me to just talk he would rather do that in person so i know when he calls he is on his way. No need to knock there is there.

Hi Rozie37! They usually call ahead before coming over but some just knock. It is very convenient if they ring us first so at least I can somehow do a little preparation like clean a little and have some refreshments ready for them. Have a nice day and take care!

When someone comes over to visit at our house they ring our door bell. A knock or wrap at the door most of the time can not be heard at our house because most of us are in our rooms. Throw a rock at a window, I experience doing that when I forgot to being my key with me before. ",)
