A wonderful, heartwarming story for all you dog lovers... This happened last night in Adelaide. Passerbys saw a house on fire, & whilst calling the neighbours & firebrigade, tried putting the fire out with a garden hose.. When the firefighters arrived, the house was well alight. A dog began barking furiously as fire fighters searched the house, running back and forth from the entrance to an internal door. Firefighters followed the dog to the door and discovered a man inside the room. Both the man and the dog were rescued from the blaze. Firefighters were reported as being very pleased with the persistance of the dog. The owner is recovering in hospital. Interestingly,a cannabis crop wad found growing hydroponically inside. * Sorry I can't find any photos of this brave dog.

Awe, this is such a touching story. Is the dog ok now? Did the dog and the owner get burnt? Thanks for sharing that with us.

The dog was not burnt. I don't think the owner was either, but he was unconscious when found.

That's bad luck. Must have been an electrical fault in the lighting over the hydroponics unit. You need a 4mm.sq. circuit to that sort of power drain not a normal 2.5mm.sq. circuit.

That is so cool!!! I know pets seem to have very good senses. I am glad they were able to get them out of the burning building.

It is a lovely story, jenny. That's why dogs are called man's best friend. They can be loyal and stay true to you. Sometimes, I wonder how the dog's brain are working. I remembered an incident many years ago. There was one time when my mother was supposed to bring our german shepherd for her vaccination. I was about to open our gate when our dog kept circling and blocking the gate. No matter how we told her to go back to her cage, she wouldn't listen. My mother suddenly remembered about the vaccination. How could our dog knew that it's her vaccination time? My mother didn't even told our dog about it.

It's funny you write of this, as one of our cats is the same. Her vaccination is booked, nothing is said at home. We are now all well aware of the problems of getting this cat to the vets for her vaccination. We can't say the word "vet" & we have to hide the cat carrier. Everything has to carry on as normal. We did all this. Still, she knew & hid on the neigbours roof. She didn't come home until well after the appt. I told my vet that she can tell the time & has ESP.

Aren't pets amazing? Sometimes, pets can do things that left us speechless and in awe, isn't it.

Good dog, saving his owner. I'll bet the guy is thankful, even though his secret crop was discovered.
