I tried to sell jewelry that I have made on ebay before and I was not successful at all. It costs a lot to list all of your stuff on ebay, plus they take a commission of the money you make if you actually sell anything. I wasn't able to sell any of my jewelry on ebay. There are so many people selling jewelry on ebay that it is really hard to get noticed unless you pay for really expensive listing options and it's just not worth it. I started a similar topic on this entitled "Should I do this?" and people gave me a lot of good suggestions. Search for it under my profile in the sections "Discussions this user has started".

You might want to look up a Trading Assistant in your area. They are ebay sellers who will sell your items for you, doing all of the work including mailing and they get a percent of the sale. Just go to the ebay site and look up the word trading assistant and it will take you to where you put in your zip code and you should get a list of people you can contact by email and by phone. If you need any help with this don't hesitate to pm me. I've been selling on ebay for almost 6 years now. Good luck.

Yahoo also has an auction or store setup, I think. And Amazon has it's Marketplace sellers (not sure if that's for auctions or just straight=out, fixed-price sales). I don't know what the fees, etc. are for Yahoo or Amazon, but I'm sure they are pretty easy to find on those companies' Web sites.

It just depends. There are soooo many sellers on eBay now! It was easier and cheaper when they were new. It's much worse than here on mylots...just think of how many discussions are started and how many we don't even see! That is what it is like on ebay...soooo many auctions going on and some are never seen. Start browsing the area of what you would sell to see what is being put up on auction...is your stuff better? is it the type of stuff that is selling? would your wanted price be better to the buyer? Sometimes the buyers on ebay expect to pay garage sale prices...sometimes you can do really well. I think it goes in spurts. It is fun when you do manage to sell.

There is a fee for selling on e-bay. I believe it is currently around 35 cents per listing, but if it doesn't sell the first time, you can relist and if it sells that time it is only the one time fee. Be wary that there are fees charged for various things and paypal too. You simply have to read everything the first time you list. I think that anything can be sold on ebay and it is smart to start small. We sell a variety of things from time to time as does my mom, it is usually a matter of trying it out and seeing what happens. Good luck !!
