Having Children

Do you want kids? Why or why not? I would love to have kids, but considering the horrible things going on in some neighborhoods and in this world as a whole, I don't know if the next generation can handle it. What do you all think? Do you want kids or not?

I don't want any. I'm too selfish to give up things I want or need everytime my kid needs a new pair of shoes or needs to go to the doctor's office. I'm not quitting my job to raise a child nor am I taking some 9-5 boring job. I'm not too old to have kids, KI just don't want them. If you do, fine. But I'm not weird or unwell just because it's my choice. So no, I won't be having kids. I could also never date a man with kids. I'm too selfish to ever date a man with kids. I come first in a relationship -- not a child. And I know no man could ever put me ahead of his own kid. So why bother? It'd end in disaster the first time we were out on a date and Junior called needing his daddy. I would not put up with it.

I'm way past the point of wanting to birth my own child. My reasons are 1. I have stepchildren, and they are my kids. and 2. I have been raising children since I was 8 years old. It soon will be my turn to have a life. My youngest stepson is now 16. Don't get me wrong, I'll never stop being their parent, and I'll adore every grandchild I end up with, but I can honestly say I'll be glad to have an empty nest until those grandchildren arrive. If you want to see my youngest, I put his prom picture in my profile.
