I shop and sell on Ebay very often. Ebay is safe because you do not have give personal information to the seller you can pay for items through paypal. When shopping on Ebay I recommend that people always check sellers feedback and pay close attention to the item description and if you do not know something about an item or have a question about an item ask the seller a question before you place a bid on an item. I got cheated last month I purchase a purse that was stated as being authentic leather vintage coach purse. I won he auction I received the purse and it was clearly fake leather and fake coach with a ton of cheap perfume sprayed on it and the purse. The auction stated purse was an authetic leather coach purse. The only thing that was coach or authentic on the purse was the coah tag. I contacted the seller they advised me that all sells were final. I responded that this purse was not what I bid on I bid on a geniune leather coach purse I get a fake leather purse with a ton of cheap perfume sprayed on it. I paid $155 for a fake leather purse, fake coach purse. I was so upset so I reported the seller through paypal and I am waiting for a resolution. I did not look at the feedback before I bid if I did I would have seen the seller has had problems with other buyers either not receiving the item in a timly matter, items being cheap quality or being described as NIB (new in box) but item was not new. Like with everything there are great people and there are bad people. For the most part I love Ebay you can sometimes get some good deals.

I have used Ebay quite often, maruti800, and have never had any problems at all. I love it and recommend it highly. I have heard stories of others having problems, but it's usually just someone they know, or someone their friends know.

I've had ppl buy things and never pay for them. But other than that I've been pretty lucky. I don't sell on Ebay anymore but I still buy on there. LIVE IN PEACE

Yes, about three years ago I bought a product that was mis-described. It was antique that the seller claimed to be Victorian. You could not tell from the picture, so it was not until the product arrived in the post that I realised that either the seller was very confused about what they were selling or they had cheated me. The product was new, the sort of thing you might buy in a gift shop that was Victorian-looking but certainly not old. I couldn't believe it was an honest mistake as the product had labels on it which were obviously new. I contacted the seller by email at first, saying that the product was not what it was described to be. I didn't get any reply for a few days which concerned me so I emailed again. I then got an email reply from the seller saying that she was sorry about the mistake and she had been confused. I then emailed back, and said, no problems, I'll just send the product back and you can refund me. Then it went silent again and I got worried. The product had cost about £100 (about US $200), which was a good price if it was what had been described, but the product I had was worth perhaps £10 pounds. So there was a lot of money at stake here. After not getting reply after a few days I emailed again and threatened legal action. Then, the seller emailed me back and said she would refund me - which she did straight away - and I sent the product back. Not a good experience, so now I always make sure that I ask questions, and ask for extra photographs, of anything where I'm not 100% clear about it or it is not clearly described by someone who knows what they are selling.

as a staff of a seller on ebay... yes we have been cheated... a few times... but ebay has it's way of dealing with it... and that is suspending ur account including reporting to paypal that could also lead to suspension of ur paypal account... ebay mostly recommends selling and buying through paypal which is by far safe...

i've been doing ebay for like 2 years now. I've never been cheated you just have to find the right people to do business with. I always check feedback before buying anything. I've sold a few things on there too. Overall I've had a good experience with them.
