Have you ever thought about breaking world records?
I recently got on this kick of doing pushups - just for the health of it. My initial goal was to get to 1000 continuous pushups. However, now I'm working towards 1000 pushups a day, which I think once I get to I should be doing around 500 continuous pushups. Then I'll keep going from that point to try to get to 1000 continous pushups. I'm up to about 75 pushups a day, 34 continuous.
So looking up the world record, it seems that the record for the most continuous pushups was over 10000 pushups - CONTINUOUSLY!!! crazy! well- i don't think I have a chance at that. The world record for number of pushups in a year is a little over one and a half million pushups, which about 4100 pushups a day. I'm willing to do about 3 hours of pushups every other day - which is about 6000 pushups - I might be able to break that yearly record....
But i'm only at 75 pushups now - so 6000 pushups in my head in clouds, is what it is.
Now I'm starting to think about adding chin-ups (pull-ups) as well. Am I crazy?? or am i crazy?? :)

I would like to break a record that I don't think exists. At least I haven't seen it yet.
At my last job, a co-worker and myself were collecting paperclips. I told him we could try to make the world's longest paperclip chain.
I've done some basic research on the records site and haven't been able to find such a thing.
Who knows, maybe one day I'll get my 15 minutes of fame.

hey why not! maybe you should just submit your chain now....if there isn't a record yet, then you've automatically got one! :)

I could do that, but then it would be such an easy record to break. The current chain, without the clips that are still in my co-worker's locker is only about 10 feet. That's nothing.
We'd probably have a total of 25 feet with the ones he still has.
I have to give it more time in order to make it more of a challenge for anyone trying to challenge my record.

true - but meanwhile, you can get a record anyway, and you're name will be in teh books. then keep working on it and when somebody breaks it, you can get it back :)

I like your avatar, Looks like he might be doing push ups. I dont know. I always told my boys that they could do anything they put their mind too. Its possible but it would probably take a year of hard work to do. Good luck. I hope you succeed.
